The problem with AI video gen is the lack of control you have. You can type in what you want to see, but once you hit generate, it's out of your hands and in the RNG's. Ultimately the shot will most likely never be what you had in your head, many times it will miss the mark by far and you'll have to continue clicking generate until you find something good enough to satisfy you.
>>107048446Sitcoms already weren't funny but this is extra bad. Smelly cat had potential but it ruined the punchline.
Quality assurance and testing jobs should go up a lot because someone can to reject all this excessive defective production. Someone has to curate it.
>>107048446If you fall for this you are really lacking in braincells
>>107048612But how much better will it be in two weeks?
>>107048787
>>107048882>many times it will miss the mark by far and you'll have to continue clicking generate until you find something good enough to satisfy you.You hit the nail on the head. Someone has to curate this because AI will never not get it until sentient robots. This is gonna be the media job of the future.
>>107048882AI video gen also takes incredible resources to keep context going for consistency of the scene. Which is why all of these AI videos are always extremely short clips and as the scene plays out longer you see more and more defects. Then they cut to a new scene to distract you from it
>>107048897>Quality assuranceOutdated concept. AI can autovalidate itself

>>107048446I think the current technology could work fine if you do just a little more than just blindly saying anything it spits out with prompting is good enough. Heavy use of controlnet, masking for depth, etc. You'd still need professionals but the workflow would change drastically as each step would literally be built from the previous. Closer to animation than live action. You'd go script->storyboard->AI video->Heavy editing. Each stage could benefit from previous workflows as well obviously. https://github.com/un1tz3r0/controlnetvideo
>>107048882It needs to gen a stickfigure 3D storyboard first, where it and the editor can apply some common sense to the physics, movement and object relations. Then you edit the storyboard, then it gens the video.

>>107055251that's the problem, it seems to be perpetually in a state between fascinating and useful. >>107055251I'm genuinely impressed that people have pulled it off, it's a cool technical achievement. But I have high standards for the movies I watch, or the code I write. There are thousands of mediocre movies already that I consider a waste of time, but if I get really bored I could watch some of them. Or I could rewatch some classics, or read one of the thousands of classic books and so on.Content has very little value unless it's absolute top quality.

I mean a lot of professional work is basically effectively predicting your customer's reaction to something which is often tied to gut feelings so a hard requirement for AI would be the ability to learn on the fly based on prior experiences months or years ago.
