>telegram owner announced a service where people can lend their GPUs for AI inference and get paid in his shitcoins
What does /g/ think about it? I don't know if it's really possible to parallelize common AI tasks to an extent where a consumer GPU would be useful.

Whats it called?

I have a feeling the electricity will be worth more than the shitcoin.
>>
>>107051593
it's barely worth doing distributed operations on clusters of h100
the latency for this type of workload is essential
>>
>>107051611
Latency is just location

Thirdies(including Russians obviously) don't pay for their electricity though they steal it.
They just need a bunch of used GPUs and stolen electricity.

Will probably work for hobbyists training their roleplay llamas and anime SD checkpoints

It's cheaper than in developed cunts but still does cost something, and people often get fucked by the government if they're found out mining on civilian price plans, let alone outright stealing it from power grids

>and get paid
so anons from shitholes with cheap electricity will outcompete everyone? price will eventually go down to electricity cost, inevitably
>>
Why is everyone acting like everyone wants to get a warehouse full of gpus. its just so you can mine it sometimes.

isn't he in prison?

I think he's under home arrest in France or something

You can't compete with stolen electricity. I could right now pull up a dozen articles of police raiding what they thought to be a weed operation only to find a GPU farm just from the central European shithole I live in. The only people making an actual profit (when factoring in energy and hardware costs) with this will be these exact operations that hook into the local train grid or whatever they do nowadays.

That's actually good for the buyer - if anyone manages to make use of consumer GPUs, that is.
>>
Guess I should move to a shithole and tap into the train grid then. At least my GPU won't be paying Jannie's salary.
