I'm trying to organize my bookmarks, but there's just so much stuff that it's overwhelming. Has anyone on here dealt with such issues? I was thinking of mirroring all of it in Obsidian for better visualization.
>>107054948Brosky it's just icons and names, how hard can it be? If you have over 30 bookmarks then it might be time to talk to a psychiatrist.
>>107054964I've got over 10k bookmarks. But most of them are already sorted and part of a project, so it's less dramatic than that.
>>107054964>If you have over 30 bookmarks then it might be time to talk to a psychiatrist.
>>107054948I was looking into this too. Landed on linkwarden and karakeep. Dad wants to do karakeep, it can do AI with local ollama, but havent got the time to test it. Oh wait linkwarden has ollama now too. I will never get around to it.
>>107054948Let's be honest, 99% of that shit is just going to waste your time. Learn to let go. This is a manifestation of death anxiety.
>>107055468I use them as a kind of tool box. If I need to solve a problem, it helps to have all the tools that I know of set out in front of me. It has worked many times in the past. But a lot of bloat has creeped in throughout the years, which is why I want to fix it now before it gets out of hand even further.
>>107055467I remember glancing over those two as well, but they seem bloated. Which is ironic since most browser bookmark managers suck precisely because they're so minimalistic and bare-bones.
>>107054964and if I have 10,000?? huh? what then? what if I multiple folders just filled with undated text documents of urls, each with over 10k lines?? what if I have 4,700 bookmarks on a 2 year old phone?
>>107056066>what if I have 4,700 bookmarks on a 2 year old phone?Brutal. I've got quite a few on my phone. I don't want to just merge them with the ones on my PC. I'm going to make a new profile and sync that one. The problem is then moving them over to the main profile, but it's not a difficult issue to overcome, just tedious. I also have many articles saved in my Feeder app, I'm getting dizzy just thinking about how much stuff there is to organize overall. It's my fault for not doing it properly from the start, but still.
>>107054948delete it all and start again. you've never used most of them and you never will. you visit like three different sites a week. why the fuck do you have so many bookmarks.
>>107054948you get stoned, play some music and then just spend the day vibe organizing.
>>107054964>>107055001I bookmark everything I read, watch, or listen to. I archive probably about 5% of the videos and 1% of what I read. I definitely need to see a professional, but it’s like gardening. I just enjoy the process of finding and saving things.
>>107056703You're not even close to being right.
>>107055468100% exactly what it is for me. Don’t care, won’t stop. Every time I’ve let something go I’ve come to regret it. I’m only going to live 100 years max, at the rate I’m accumulating things it will never be a significant problem.
>>107056736yeah i am. you're not organized, if you were you wouldn't be here asking how to organize your bookmarks. you don't use most of them, if you did you'd already know what they were and you wouldn't need to organize them and you wouldn't feel overwhelmed by them. you're telling yourself, and us, bullshit, apparently in order to appear smart. you can't use that many bookmarks, you don't have time in the day to go through that number, take information from them and process that information. you're telling everyone you can because like every nerd faggot your identity is tied to the belief you're much smarter than everyone else. you're not. you're lying to yourself and now you're here lying to us too. you're wasting everyone's fucking time. just delete them.
>>107056852Alright, Sigmund, calm down. The bookmarks are sorted into categories depending on their uses. I don't need to use them often, they just have to be there when I need them. I got lazy and stopped sorting them properly, which is why I got myself into this mess. I'll eventually get things sorted out, it's just tedious to do so.
