I just think they're neat. Look at this shit: a 1-din CD player with a 3-disc 8cm CD changer. All for an early 90's Honda Civic Hatchback. WTF were they doing with a 3 stack of 8cm CD's?
This was an OEM headunit.
VU meters and metal knobs.
This MD player had slots built in for the degenerates. OLED screen too I think, or some variation like OEL
Just another OEM Honda unit by Kenwood.
Glass / mirror surface headunit.
Highly recommend checking out this guy if you love old card stereos:https://www.youtube.com/@manstuckonhishead/videosThere is just something about them.... they are full of SOVL unlike current stereos....
>>107061060Oh yeah the algorithm recommended me him like 2 years ago. It's sad even with such production value channels like his struggle to get views. Makes me not want to start my own channel =/Alpine double din with CD/MD. On the up model you could run an extra wire to the battery to increase the Amplifiers output from 45W to 60W a channel.
Keep getting a 500 server error as I try to post about a 1-Din DVD unit =/
>>107060958Woah, I love that. All the ones on eBay are in silver, though.

the mpreg unitLinux based 1990s unit, originally made by RIOhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYOhvPoD-yUYou load music onto it via the internal hard drive
>>107061004I miss this aesthetic so much.
1-din DVD GET
>>107061766The translucent plastic or the heavy VFD usage? I like both. This head unit gives you permission to beat gorilla cheeks like Tarzan. Combo CD/MD mechanism and aux input too.
Look at that chrome flapper.Sexoooo
>>107061871>The translucent plastic or the heavy VFD usage? Both. Humanity peaked at the turn of the century.
>>107061895Even Alpine couldnt resist adding a toilet flushing handle
Eclipse made a CD/DVD/MD head unit with a screen that showed 1 video feed to the driver and a second to a passenger so the passenger could watch a video.
>>107060948I need it.
>>107062020Just 1 screen on that - they did something with lenses to obscure the passengers video from the drivers angle.Honda let you rip 6 CD's to the flash memory on this unit.
>>107061766One more for you anon.>>107062042What are you puttin on your 3x 8-cm CD stack anon?
How could anyone hate a VFD spectrogram visualizer?
>>107061630Yeah the Silver ones are more common.Panasonic also made this tube amp beast.
>>107061717Nice. I almost build a car-pc back in the early 2000's. Glad I didn't in retrospect.
Good thread
>>107060948Most of my cars have had them, I always thought it was nice when they found a way to put the changer in the dash, even in the 90’s when it was new tech. Wish I had better pics since it’s actually a decent stock unit for the time.
My factory radio in my 1985 car. Had a 50 watt per channel amplifier, Graphic EQ, and automatic noise floor ( not speed based ) Automatic Volume control, with a gain knob. Sounded pretty good too.
>>107063703and then my 96, the last day the old disk-nav system was installed. It is touch screen, but the interface still looks better than what we shit out 30 years later and had buttons for most things.
