my windows laptop is getting old and slow - think its time to switch to troonux. what is my best option if I literally dont want to rice / configure anything I just need a terminal, vscode and chrome

I just created my first vitual machine last night, and went with Debian. I still dont completely understand all the benefits of using linux, but i like it so far. this was more just an experiment I did on an old macbook but after i get more familiar will make one on my desktop
