Debianbros... Micay is bullying us again.
>>107064651it's so over for us...
>>107064651>Arch better for privacyWhat a fucking retardI herewith call him outArch is and always has been a security and maintenance nightmare
>privacytop fucking kek. those people really believe they can hide something
>>107064651The majority of Debian packages are reproducible, there are tools to determine whether your current packages are reproducible or not
>>107064651fuck Micay!!!! he is literally doing a Jewish genocide because his stupid OS won't allow cellebrite to work.
>>107064661i haven't used debian since v4.0, and have been using arch for a along time. but this is retarded. there are a lot of retarded debian packagers out there. and the collective attitude of their community of developers is something else, with them pretending like they can just magically will things into existence when upstreams won't do it for them. but that doesn't negate the fact that they do contribute useful things from time to time, including things with security/safety implications. for example, i believe it was some debian people who started the movement and put a lot of effort into making reproducible builds more common.
>>107064651Dude is a schizo that is lucky enough mobile is so fucked up as a ecosystem that his schizo rants are justified.
>>107064661"Stalking and harassment" omfg. I didn't even know this guy's name, he's literally irrelevant. Isn't the OS not even made and just beta tested by some paid YouTubers? Who knows.Non-Debian Linux systems are just shit. I'm sorry to break it to everyone, but they're toys for computer enthusiasts. Even Debian systems aren't great for computing unless you are writing code for servers (or literally deploying a server), but they're definitely the closest to being production-ready for desktop users.
>>107064957>Non-Debian Linux systems are just shit. I'm sorry to break it to everyone, but they're toys for computer enthusiastsYou have no idea what you're talking about.
>>107064651>MicayReminder this is the same guy who claims these security chips with a hardware identifier are needed.
>>107064651>>107064661nice, more impetus to test out droidian.
>>107064651i wonder who i should trust on this one: a guy responsible for hardened-malloc and countless security patches for android or some random 4chan retards. hmm....
>>107065029You should use your brain and not make it about one or the other.
>>107065004holy
>>107065039i've never seen any valid criticism towards GrapheneOS my brain tells me all the threads shitting on micay are made by feds because they're seething hard about his operating system, which is glowie-proof.
>>107064967I've used them all and they're buggy and shit, we aren't talking about niche barebones stuff like Tails, or things that matters to nobody here and never will (e.g. ATM machines etc). Debian-based systems are the only ones you should ever see on a desktop or notebook.
>>107065004Why would you do that? You made your Phone less useful.
>>107064737Absolutely
Yea I was pretty happy with my 5 vms but after reading this tweet that's it, gonna format them all to alpine
>>107064661What is he referring to with stalking and harassment? Missed that dramaAnyway I kind of have a mancrush on Daniel and grapheneos is cool but it's obvious he's kind of a schizo. Thanks for reading my blog
>>107064651archbros just keep winning
>>107065081>the hobbyist tinker toy is the only one you should ever see on a desktop or notebook.kek sure, then I'll build my house out of legos and give you a call on a plastic cellphone full of M&M's
>>107064651>>107064661>known corpo bootlicker does corpo bootlickingsay it ain't so
Reminder that Daniel used to maintain Arch packages, and likely still runs it as a daily driverThis is also why he's so hesitant to reveal his personal setup, because it'd be le insecure KEKhttps://archlinux.org/people/package-maintainer-fellows/#thestinger
>>107065647anyone use linux-hardened and hardened_malloc?
>>107065647>Daniel used to maintain Arch packageshe hasn't been active in the arch community for 10 years now.
>>107064651Why is Fedora better for privacy and/or security than Ubuntu? I mean, it's literally called FEDora for fuck's sake.
>>107065767Anon have you ever wondered why Arch is an officially supported Linux distro for installing GrapheneOS?
>>107064651I'm confused why he thinks Arch (which by design installs only the most basic of requirements) is more secure than Debian. Arch doesn't even support secure boot. Apparmor and SELinux don't come installed out of the box. Default Arch has to be one of the least secure distros because it doesn't set anything up for you at all.
>>107065793>UbuntuSNAP'DI tested ubuntu and was surprised docker was snap, not gonna deal with blackbox shit
>>107065793-selinux actually confining a lot of processes ootb (apparmor on ubuntu/debian has enforce mode set for like 20 basic processes kek)-more up to date packages so no more begging canonical for security fixes-ubuntu pushing snaps and a lot of them are buitl with outdated core libraries, nobody bothers updating them and ubuntu doesn't really care either-malware in the snap store (happened twice or three times if i remember correctly)-ubuntu holding back security fixes behind their shitty ubuntu pro so you have to create an account and link it with your device to get themprobably a lot more idk
>>107065793Fedora (the Explorer) has SELinux OOB due to being a fork of Red Hat (IBM maintained), that's about it.But you should hate Ubuntu for many reasons than SELinux. The ONLY reason to use Ubuntu is if you need a quick live DVD and that's only because Knoppix (Live CD/DVD/USB fork of Upstream Debian) stopped updating the English version a decade ago.
>>107065863so is Debian and Ubuntu and Mint
>>107066243>Knoppix (Live CD/DVD/USB fork of Upstream Debian) stopped updating the English version a decade ago.just learn German
