Which monitor do you use and which one you wish you had. Top one I use, button one is the one I want to buy.
(I bought mine on amazon not newegg, just showing the product page as an example)

There's almost nothing better, so I'm just waiting on the new RGB OLED panels for now.

old Samsung 55"TV with massive burn ins and sections of lighting flickering. not planning to upgrade anytime soon.
>>
You could get a 4k240 or 1440p500hz with bfi for the price of bottom
>>
I'm using a 32" 1440p IPS, and I want just that but mini-led. Non-existent because muh pixel density.
>>
>>107070753
4k is a massive meme and 500hz is an even bigger meme. I wouldn't get a monitor with an 800R curve or matte coating though
>>
>>107071150
MiniLED only looks good for movies and some games. For desktop apps it sucks.

Thank you for clarifying this. I would otherwise have lived out the rest of my life convinced that an anonymous internet user bought their VP3841 on newegg. It would have been a shameful existence, a life based on a lie.

I'm good with it for the time being, but would be open to getting a 32" 4k monitor with good contrast and a panel type that doesn't kill itself in the future. Would also be nice if 16:10 became a thing again, but that's probably not going to happen.

Why would I buy an OLED monitor when a CRT performs better in games?
>>
>>107073162
because if you turn on bfi it has just as good motion clarity, better framerates, resolutions and most important of all, it doesn't look like fuzzy shit
>>
>>107073201
Show me a single OLED sold today that
1) even has BFI
2) comes anywhere close to CRT clarity at 60hz (<1ms MPRT)
>resolution
>fussy shit
Not issues my tube suffers from
>>
>>107073211
it takes about 10 seconds to check whether a 480hz or a 500hz monitor has bfi and most of them do now
why do you care about motion clarity if you're stuck on 60 fucking hz on sub 720p pixel counts that can't even display that motion
>>
>>107073247
>it takes about 10 seconds to check
Well, do then. Find reviews where those modes are checked. I'll then show why it's still just nowhere good enough.
Couple years ago no OLED monitor had BFI and TVs were dropping and enshittifying support, I doubt much has changed.
>if you're stuck on 60 fucking hz
You seem to be missing the point of BFI. My display isn't stuck to 60hz (it supports 170hz), it's the games that are. Pretty much all 2D games are 60hz. And only a CRT can display 60hz with no motion blur, because of it's inherent strobe or "BFI".
>on sub 720p pixel counts
My tube can at 60hz display 2160p. Although I tend to use 1200p-1536p most of the time.
You really have no idea how ahead of their time endgame PC CRTs were. They genuinely still are among the best displays humanity ever manufactured, in ways still entirely unmatched and unsurpassed by flat panels of any kind.

Too many drawbacks to OLED, so I'm waiting for mini LED. But I've had this monitor since like the start of COVID, and it has been steady for me the whole time.

luckily you can make any tube fresh and sharp again by simply removing AG
Mine was very bright before
Its on par with modern monitors now
1440p looks amazing
if you had 80 nits before, you can expect 160 without antiglare
Mine was allready fresh before
So im probably around 250 nits now
maybe more
At 60% contrast and about half contrast max

I use a Samsung OLED G9, I still haven't seen anything that I want to upgrade to. The LG 5K2K looks good but I don't want to lose my 32:9 aspect ratio. Maybe if Samsung makes a 57" OLED variant, I would go for that.
>>
My main is AW3423DWF, really no issues with it other than some coil whine while it's doing some shit in standby. I want something bigger but I guess I will have to wait for burn in to happen first. Also never downgrading from oled unless some other tech that's not fucked appears for a reasonable price.

- Capitalize sentence starts (e.g., "It" not "it").
- Add terminal punctuation (e.g., periods).
- Use proper articles: "A couple of years ago" (not "Couple years ago").
- Avoid sentence fragments beginning with subordinating conjunctions (e.g., "Although..." as fragment).
- Fix comma splices (use semicolons, periods, or em dashes).
- Use correct prepositions: "stuck at 60 Hz" (not "stuck to 60hz").
- Use correct unit capitalization and spacing: "Hz" with space (e.g., "60 Hz", "170 Hz").
- Use possessive "its" not contraction "it's".
- Replace informal/slang words for formal style or quote them: "enshittifying", "fucking", "pretty much", "really".
- Avoid sentence-initial conjunctions in formal style ("And").
- Prefer "run at 60 Hz" over "are 60hz".
- Reorder awkward word order for clarity (e.g., "At 60 Hz, my tube can display 2160p.").
- Use "resolutions below 720p" or "sub‑720p resolutions" instead of "sub 720p pixel counts".
- Hyphenate or use en dash for ranges: "1200p–1536p" or "1200p to 1536p".
- Use formal alternatives for jargon/slang: "late‑generation" or "final‑generation" instead of "endgame".
- Use present perfect for manufactured phrasing: "that humanity has ever manufactured".
- Avoid redundant modifiers ("unmatched and unsurpassed" - choose one).

I'd suggest waiting for Black Friday and buying an Alienware from Dell.
Ultrawide OLED monitors all use the same panel. From the oldest ones to the newest ones.
Dell will be most likely to have deal.
I have the Alienware OLED and it's solid.
If this is your first OLED, do your research beforehand on how to properly set it up or it will look like shit.
