>usb-c becomes standard for phones>faggot manufacturers pivot to making 90000000 different headphone and watch charging variants
>>107072708usbC is a shit conector overall, not made for coupling and uncoupling twice a day for 9000 days in a rowapple had a good idea with those shitass magnetic connectors
>>107072808There's a fix for that
>>107072808To be fair, I don’t even think traditional barrel jacks are built for that. Aren’t usb c connectors rated for a duty cycle of 10k+ couplings? That’s higher than barrel jacks iirc.
>>107072866so does it get stuck inside the usb port and keep it protected so you'd only be removing the magnetic thingy when you charge? cause in my experience it's the ports that break
>>107072808appel literally participated in usbc design lol
>>107072866>just make your cables incompatible between your devices bro unless you buy adapters for everythingIsn’t the point of usb c is that it works for everything?
>>107072900Yep the small connector stays in the phone and you attach the cable to it>>107072907Yes but it's also a shit solution, the female side should not have a flimsy breakable part in it. On top of that it should have a minimum USB version to prevent abominations like USB 2.0 with USB-C connectors.IN most cases you'll be charging at home, so I see no issue with the nonstandard cable. You could also use an adapter. The watch chargers wouldn't be so bad it they were also in adapter form, but they're usually the shittiest cables, and often USB-A on top of that.
>>107072994Ok, out of spec USB C cables are indeed a fucking plague. But personally, that adapter would just be a bad solution for me because I use usb c the way it was intended and really only have one cable setup in a room that can charge whatever I need. I’d have to buy adapters for every single device I have to keep using that cable without unplugging them every single time.
>>107072808Use for insertion and exertion ritual for 9000 days and nights?
>>107073061That’s only 25 years, anon. I have cables that old that still work fine that I used to use all the time. Who doesn’t like their house to be filled with wiring that’s decades old? That’s why I moved to the historic district. We had fucking cloth wiring insulation from the dawn of the age of electricity in this place when I moved in and it worked fine. We still replaced it immediately tho lol
>>107073033The magnetic one is mainly there to reduce the stress on the port of the device, keeping an adapter like >>107072994 next to the cable wouldn't be a big hassle. I use USB-C and a box full of adapter garbage.. I should get a C female to A female
>>107072808>apple had a good idea with those shitass magnetic connectorsoh yeah, magsafe 'connectors' were fine.
>>107073576idea =/= using deliberately shitty materials that disintegrate within half a year
>using a cable to charge your phonelol
>>107073667>charging 30% slower
>>107073698its done charging by the time I wake up tho
>>107072994link?
