Spicfag here: why might it be saying "2,000 millones"? It translates to 2 billion if you multiple the literal "2k" and "millions" but in spanish we don't express huge numbers like this.Like this could be a snippet from a real book that contains the "sugerir" word which roughly means to something like: I "urge" you to do X.
>>107076370>>107077394Doesn’t happen in Apple Translate. Google has just killed their own Translation app.
>>107078062Apple uses google translate, AI training has actually become very incestous. This is more amusing than previously thought because google is using 2 separate AI models when you use it through a google server vs the direct google.translate website. Also these translations are wrong no matter what because there is no "sugerir" in English...
dios mio
>>107078083Well no, Apple Translate is its own thing with no Google service. If it was Google Translate then they would have added the other languages by now. Also Apple was the first to translate images before Google added.

spanish as a language just looks so brown

>>107078519globally we use en-us because it is a lot more less complex than latin root languages. Helps with framing ideas within "safe" boxes. Latin languages are much more descriptive as they can create neowords on the fly, plus local regional dialects. Asian languages are rooted on ideograms and poetry, and are not malleable on the fly compared against basic en-us. Worst are german austrian and northern, because there they laterally concatenate words until the long string arrives to the meaning. English helps with the budget of words per idea. Latin laguages are too descriptive at their verb mutations conversation consequences

>>107091669Could be that, or something else. Most of the results that produce longer strings of text tend to focus on oil or petrol, chemical analysis. It also loves the number 2000, but most of the times it does not make any sense.Half of the time it looks like grammatically semi correct phrases with no real meaning, others it's like it's outputting bits of previous translations, from papers to websites.Sadly, I haven't found any fun output, so this has been a massive waste of time. Nothing will top when the AOL search results were leaked.
Google Translate suddenly got good recently (at most a year ago). Before, if you compared Google Translate's translations with things like DeepL, the difference was huge in favor of DeepL, but now the difference is basically non-existent (I would say Google Translate is even better). So they're probably running all final translations through an LLM that is retouching the text. Sometimes it can hallucinate, though. DeepL also hallucinates and sometimes tries to complete translations in crazy ways instead of just translating what is written.
>>107091669I was thinking a bit more about it, and I'm Probably wrong. They way the output is constructed, it's behaves more like the autocomplete Google search suggestions, down to triggering an error when it notices a bad word that would disable autocomplete. Other times, some of the translations have massive typos, slang and bad grammar that resemble the style of a (human) user generated search query.
Maybe it's about this Polaris?https://eleos.health/press-releases/eleos-launches-polaris-ai-built-with-google-cloud/
>>107091948>Sometimes it can hallucinate, thoughin this case the hallucinations seem to repeat in a reproducible way, so I'm not really sure this is a LLM. but I'm no expert.
>>107092280It's also outputting pseudowords, which is rather interesting. But sigh. I'm studying psycholinguistics and I find this mildly interesting, but I'm clueless about AI.
