Currently using V2 Affinity suite and DaVinci Resolve.
I will not be upgrading to the new Affinity. The logo is ugly and I refuse to sign their Acceptable Use Policy, or whatever it's called.

Currently hovering at around 3% market share worldwide and isn't a unified platform like Mac where they have one OS to target. It's not going to happen for niche software like this.
An outlier like DaVinci is only on Linux because Blackmagic wanted to sell workstations for their editing panels without paying the Windows tax or dealing with Microsoft's bullshit in general.

Marvelous Designer (the software both the game and 3D animation industries use to design virtual clothing for characters) is even more niche than Affinity and that just got released for Linux, so why can't Affinity?

>>

>gimp or krita? :/
I haven't used GIMP in 20 years. But I'm told it's less shit than it used to be. Krita isn't a photo editor. It's for drawing/illustration like Clip Studio Paint. If you don't care about the Canva garbage then the new Affinity has more features than the old version, and is still free (for now).

You are very stupid. To support Linux, all a company needs to do is release their source code. If a company would like to make their app compatible with the Linux kernel and GNU software ecosystem, all power to them, but that is not necessary. Truly, proprietary software is the worst industry practice.
Of course, Obrecht is too much of a jew to allow a Canva product to use a freedom-preserving license. "Free as in free beer" is too enticing for any normalfag.

I've worked in the design field for a while.
In Apple's case it's (in part) because most of their corporate design is in white so to achieve a strong contrast they pick people accordingly to make all their ads "pop" as much as possible.
That's also why you often see white girl black dude everywhere now. The strong contrasts draw more attention which is exactly what people behind ads want. Of course there are also """many other reasons""" to speculate about but these are some of the most important reasons in advertising.

I used Scribus (FOSS for page layout and typesetting) to make an anthology of writing from /lit/ (pic rel). I've never used any other piece of design/layout software, but Scribus is far more capable than something like Canva, despite some rough edges. Affinity being free gets me curious, but the login requirement kills that interest.

I also did all of the illustration editing/creation in GIMP, which are nearly all in the public domain or creative commons.
