A reason why this isn't a bigger industry is because eople who read books are smart so they don't buy stuff unless they need to and they don't buy junk that breaks, so everyone has had their same reader since 2018 or earlier.

The only devices with front light and 300ppi are the Kindle Scribe and the various Kaleido 3 offerings.I'd average around 2 hours for a volume so 10 might take a week to complete. A Japanese volume is about $5 but shipping more than doubles that. American versions are even more expensive in print. $7 per volume is more in line with European prices.
