My boss is delusional.
He keeps asking that AI is integrated into everything. So basically all I write is API calls to ChatGPT and prompts.
The dumbest example is the original plan for the login system: Send the username and the password (yes, unhashed) to ChatGPT as a prompt. The ChatGPT agent makes the query to the database and sees if such a user exists.
Since then we've binded a hashing tool to the agent so it can hash the password and query for that, at least.
He truly believes being the first AI native app will make it irresistible to customers, so he'll be able to charge higher fees than the competition and pay for all of the inference.
It's just me and a little high schooler (related to him) building the app. Yet there are SEVEN people in the marketing/design team. For something that is only supposed to launch 8 months from now.

That's hilarious. Keep developing your skills on the side and don't take the job too seriously before the company inevitably goes tits up.

start looking for another job aggressively (at least 3 interviews a week)
leverage current job experience by describing heavily what you do on Linkedin
get few certificates
run as fast as you can and don't look back

Lmao. If investors somehow eat this up then there truly is a crash coming

the company I work for is adding a chatbot to each screen on a website that has looked the same since 2010 with the idea that customers will be willing to pay at least 20% more for the service they already use and every time we have a meeting with investors it's like witnessing kids see Santa. luckily I'm not involved in this so they can't say I should've warned them

your boss, like every other rich boomer, would literally have sex with LLMs if he could. I'm glad you're aware that he's delusional. learn everything you can and go look for another job
