Hi /g/nerds, like many of you I'm fedup with webp so I wrote a small patch for Firefox to convert webp to jpeg when you right click -> Save Image As.I've only tested it on Firefox ESR 140.3.1 built via Guix but the git version should work fine.I only tested it on one image so it's possible there are bugs, if you know of sites that use webp I'll test it some more.https://gist.github.com/huntiep/4a353b906d694c868fb7ab61143ebf60
Also if someone knows how I might determine if a webp image is lossless or not please post it.

Already a Firefox extension for that.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/webp-image-converter/
>>107089356It requires you to use a special menu option which I find annoying, but that's great if it works for you.
I also wrote a patch that lets you set a custom newtab page.https://gist.github.com/huntiep/82ea73ff5879846f5a4d628082d30e3d>inb4 there's an extension for thatWhen I tried it a while ago it was bad, it first opened an extension url and then opened your custom page. It felt very hacky. Maybe they've since fixed that but frankly this shouldn't have been removed from the browser in the first place.
why firefox? no one uses it
>>107090165I do! The biggest advantage over chromium is that tabs have a minimum width and then the tab bar scrolls. I also like about:config and user.css support.Unfortunately there isn't much else to differentiate them anymore. Mozilla catered to normalfags and it got them... 3% market share. Great job! So glad they fired that heckin chud CEO.

patches are a pretty shit way to do thisfirefox takes a long ass time to compile and your patch will have to be updated every time those files are modified by mozillamaho cute
