I love vertical tabshowever came up with this idea deserves million dollars
>>107090525same, the moment they were introduced I immediately switched to using them. I do retain horizontal tabs on really small displays though.
looks like ass, takes up too much screen real estate
>>107090525They're even cooler in the tree style extensions
>>107090525nice, but that's a massive amount of wasted padding space between each tab
Looks stupid and wastes a lot of space
Edge has the best implementation IMO. I use firefox and is not as clean.
>>107090525>maximizing on-screen estate... by wasting a lot of space? I don't get it
>>107090553>>107090580>>107090599>waste of spaceYeah, all of that precious horizontal space websites use
tabs as a tree is betterhttps://github.com/mbnuqw/sidebery
>>107090651I don't care about the website, my screen is big enough to open multiple applications at the same time. Using vertical tabs steals a shit ton of space from my screen that I could use for other apps instead
>>107090780Have you considered the fact that you can easily switch between vertical and horizontal tabs depending on if you need to multitask or not?
>>107090790I see no reason to ever turn it on
>>107090795>I see no reason to ever turn it onBeing able to read your tab titles when you have 30 of them opened
>>107090845I guess that can be useful if you're a tab hoarder, but I never open more than 3 to 5 tabs at a time.Learn to let go, you don't need all these tabs
>>107090888>you don't need all these tabsSometimes I really do
can't install violentmonkey anymore on brave?
>>107090525waiting for chrome to get tabs so I can switch to helium
>>107090764this, using a tree you can relate tabs to your recent browsing history.e.g a child must come from a parent, which lets you trace back where you came from.this is really good when browsing documentation or wikipedia, which lets you get back where you came from once you've read what you needed. as long as you follow DFS you're good to go
>>107090764been using vertical tab extensions for a decade+ and i've found Sidebery is the best nowadays, especially if you want compact theming and combining with Auto Tab Discard (which is also a game changer if y'all don't already use it).
>>107090525OP came up with vertical tabs and is the only person on the planet who likes them>>107090546samefag
>>107090525All of this could be on one bar.
I customized FF to just have the dropdown tab list in the main toolbar and didn't use horizontal or vertical tabs. It's pretty nice but easy to forget what you have open
>>107090525>>107090546i love them toobrave has it integratedlibrewolf and waterfox have vertical tabs integrated, you don't need the tree style tab add on anymore
>>107090553Only factual if you're below 1440p.
>>107090525i cant imagine going back to the retarded inefficiency of horizontal tabs page title scanning looking for the correct tab
I don't browser fullscreen, so Vivaldi's stacked tabs are better to mewho the hell browses fullscreen anyway
>>107090553https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Six_(novel)?useskin=vector
>>107093228>>107090651Fucking dammit.
I don't understand the point of tabs, just use bookmarks
horizontal saves me more pixels
>>107093030Firefox has them integrated, too.
>>107093330tabs are like memory, bookmarks are the storage diskwhich is why I don't get tab hoarders either. they always end up using tabs as objectively worse bookmarks.
>>107093330i just use one window per website like it used to be
>>107093083 >claims to enjoy efficiency >over 2/3 of his screen is dead empty space that could be used for something else
>>107090553>>107090580>>107090599This. I don't get the fascination with "OMG MY TABS ARE LISTED UP/DOWN!" instead of just clicking the tab at the top bar.I guess if you use "responsive" sites like Wikipedia ( >>107090651 ) it isn't a problem, but Jesus Chris, taking up 10-15% of the site page just to list tabs, really?
>>10709052516:10 solves this problem but display makers dont want to have that discussion for some reason
>>107093453not dead empty i've just got the folders collapsed.>>over 2/3 of his screen is dead empty space that could be used for something else>presses ctrl+command+z to temporarily hide it you use computers, right?
>>107090525Vivaldi had it since day 1
>>107093493>you use computers, right?not unless I have tosent from my iPad Pro
>>107090525Finally! a thread about tebs. I like them both. Vertical tebs, horizontal tebs, no tebs... But the part that makes me enjoy the most, is the simple fact that I call them tebs instead of tabs. That's the secret behind a good teb organization system; beyond the acclaimed 'tebs to the right' or 'tebs above' debate, I will still be a faithful and loyal teb enjoyer and will defend my flag up until the last of my days. I'll leave this teb open in case anyone wants to add something. Happy tebbing!
>>107093545
>>107093590Nice looking tebs, bro
