I hate social media and I avoid using them but at least I can understand why normies are obsessed with them. Still I cannot undestand what's the appeal of Snapchat and why it's so popular.

>>107092140I never liked Snapchat honestly, the only actual social media I actually use is discord. Also Instagram has lots of the same content from tiktok but outdated and lots of youtube shorts are from tiktok so I was not much of a heavy Instagram user. I never liked Snapchat because of the pressure back in the early 2010s to always have a snap streak with people and some of my former highschool classmates considered it a great sin to ever break the streak and I didn't like th pressure. Also I just feel like its not relevant to people who want to have real conversations with each other because it promotes temporary images and short texts and isn't meant for meaningful connections.

>>107092876It's because the normies feel rejected that someone doesn't want to join their world and get into their same mindset and memes and culture and they think that the stuff they consume is so excellent that it's puzzling that some people refuse to participate in it at all. Also I was born in the year 2000 and I'm 25 now and I barely participate on social media because I already know I'll get lots of hate just for sharing my opinions and existing plus I get too embarrassed if I were to share videos of myself doing trends on tiktok and for people to say "sybau" or "who the hell thinks ts is tuff" and also I just dislike having a digital footprint. I would rather be remembered who impacted people irl and remember the more schools I graduate from and the more jobs I go to over time. The worst social media from the 2010s wasn't just Snapchat but also ask.fm. Ask.fm was as toxic as Chernobyl to the point where me and several others just disliked social media after being bullied there. I like discord and 4chan better and also just going on video sites but watching videos all day and not posting anything really. Hypothetically if I were to post on social media it would be about my gameboy advance and Ds games and my linux pop os setup plus my distro hopping adventures and me showing off my riced desktop. Also I would post emo-ass music all the time whenever depression hit me at all and I had an angst episode.
