Take a virus pill!
>>
At this point I think Windows XP is so vulnerable that I wouldn't be surprised if you get malware just from using your computer normally, even if you're trying to be careful.

No one is wasting time making shit for it anymore since its marketshare is 0.something

sure. who are the ones still using XP?
>industries that operate machinery that requires software with no updates
yeah, I'm sure some of those aren't critical enough to be targeted...

lol the first machine I "hacked" (relied on metasploit as a script kiddy) was a XP SP2 box on HTB (I think). I can't imagine being stupid enough to use XP and have it connected to the internet.

ATMs, which I think is good enough reason for people to still create viruses for it.

Daily reminder that you will not get infected as long as you are not retarded. As a regular user, you can only catch a malware either by downloading it on your own or exposing your computer directly to the internet. In both cases, you have to be clinically retarded for this to happen. I can't stress how hard I hate linux trannies who make those threads to groom people into switching to troonix.

at the point you are running xp, you could probably get a linux distro that better supports the hardware and it would probably me more user friendly at this point.

I work for an aerospace company that produces everything from airlock mechanisms used in the International Space Station to the things that cause oxygen masks to drop when a commercial airplane depressurizes. We have a ton of systems running XP because some pressure chamber or scale or diagnostic tool won't work with anything newer.
>>
>>107093046
Total bullshit by the way. You'd have to be retarded or purposefully want to get infected.

Manufacturers do this on purpose i think. I occasionally visit a materials lab, their xray runs on Windows ME. There was never an option to upgrade, the people responsible just released a new machine, with entirely new software, couple of years later. Same with medical tools, endoscopes and the like.

contrary to popular belief, troonix has mid support for old hardware, especially for battery optimizations. XP can be run OOTB on most hardware that is actually worth one's time (you can even install it on newer hardware but its kinda pointless unless we run out of good hardware). Software compatibility is also mid, and yes, I know one can use compatibility layer like wine, but at this point if I am about to use every other program through it, I might as well run it natively. There are plenty of modern web browsers still working on it, plus you can run many nuprograms with VxKex. I see no point in using linux on the desktop, unless you maybe work with it. Its technical abilities are still very gimped, its DEs and WMs are still somewhat inconsistent and its community consists mostly of obsessed, insufferable faggots like ebussy, theevilskeleton, or even literal pedophiles like devault or bicha.

Uh what's the issue if shit still runs fine, especially when not connected to the interwebs?
Why throw out perfectly fine hardware?
