>Oh I'm sorry, did we wake you up? Or your baby? Did you get startled and almost crashed your car? Don't worry, this is only a test! Yes, another one. No, you cannot turn this off. See you in three months!

Why is this allowed
>>
elites are toying with the goyim
>>
I didn't get this alert, should I be worried?
>>
>>107094125
>BEEEEEEEEEEOOOP BEEEEEEEEEEOOOP BEEEEEEEEEOOOOOP
>Attention: 12 year old Ashley McGregor has been """kidnapped""" by Bon McGregor 250 miles from your location. Keep an eye out.
>>
>>107094150
If you have a phone running on Android 10, iOS 15 or lower you can still turn it off. Or if you built your own custom ROM where you removed the wireless alerts module. Even in standard GrapheneOS/LineageOS you cannot turn it off.
>>
>>107094176
I wouldn't want to turn this off, but I didn't receive the alert.
>>
>>107094185
It's not gonna be worldwide at the same time, is it.
Pretty much all developed countries are testing this shit now and you cannot even turn off the tests.
>>
>>107094154
usually some nog or spic in a custody dispute, those alerts are the first to be turned off
>>
>>107094125
This has literally never been used in my country for at least 30 years
>>
>>107094125
huh? in your country they don't inform you about the tests in advance? what causes this?
>you cannot turn this off
flight mode?
>>
>>107094426
Yeah, they do, so what? They still do them
>flight mode?
Not the same
>>
>>107094125
You can turn this off. I did. Amber got lost one too many times some week so I said fuck her and turned off all the alerts.
>>
>>107094465
We don't have those amber alerts in Europe anyway. But the national/presidential level alerts you cannot turn off anywhere. If they want to send an alert that you cannot turn off, they can.

Again, this option does nothing if they want you to receive it. Look up how this system works, it's baked in. Unless you've got a 10 year old phone
>>
>>107094125
works on my machine
>>
>>107094761
You've got a pretty slider that doesn't work. I have the same one. Doesn't do anything by design though. It might stop some alerts but not the ones that bypass this.
>>
>>107094756
I'm aware that they are capable of forcing such an alert through even with it set to off but I have never received one to date, which is good enough for me
>>
>>107094426
You can't turn it off on most phones, you have to disconnect a radio receiver of some kind to turn it off

Another reason to avoid arm turds
>>
>>107094787
I've never had an alert since I've disabled them years ago.
>>
>>107094125
Get an international phone model, they can be disabled completely in them
>>
>regularly get one
>trained to ignore it

Every fucking time
Stop doing this shit.
>>
>>107094816
Most developed countries are rolling out this shit now or in the near future, with test alerts that cannot be disabled. They only started like a year ago here. I'm guessing in the US it's done on a state/local level.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EU-Alert
>>
>>107094843
lol fucking europe
>>
>>107094125
In germany we get prepared a few days before this stuff happens so nobody is shocked, they tell us in the news and the radio etc.
>>
>>107094861
A quick search shows that the US does them too. I'm guessing all the people not receiving them here are still using an original Moto G or Nexus or their mom's handmedown iPhone 5.

>>107094881
I still sucks
>>
>>107094893
>I still sucks
yeah it does. I remember when I drove to work and forgot my mobile in the car, it was hammering for a few hours lmao, wonder what the people were thinking
>>
>>107094911
Shit it doesn't automatically turn off after a while? Didn't even know this
>>
>>107094924
nah it was blasting when I went to my car haha I heard it from a good distance
>>

I am

and
>>107094788
my phone is Pixel 9 Pro, previously a Pixel 6, and I have never received one.
>>
airplane mode blocks this, don't let retards tell you otherwise
>>
>>107094962
I'm on pixel 8 and haven't gotten them since before pixel
though my pic doesn't have presidential alerts >>107094761 so I suspect they're still there.
>>
>>107094125
test alerts make sense. if you missed an actual alert because shit was broken you'd be pissed (and maybe dead)
>>107094154
this is the annoying one. i'm sorry some kid got snatched 6 hours away, but my phone GPS hasn't changed in hours. at least only alert phones that aren't sitting at home and are on the move.
>>
>>107094154
lmfao
>>
Pretty sure if it's a separate application (usually is in my experience) you can just adb disable it
>>
Imagine being so autistic you shut off emergency alerts.
>>
>>107094125

Ontario uses those for custody disputes.

I shut off every alert and notification I can for everything on every device. They're irritating. A computer does not get to interrupt me.

>Used to have the infrastructure and civil service to do proper public warnings and respond to emergencies
>Reunite with east Germany and let the states handle it
>States dismantle all of it for budgetary reasons
>Multiple disasters with no way to quickly respond to them
>Now forced to rely on jank ass cell phone warning systems that vary between useless (if you don't hear it or don't have a phone with you), annoying and outright dangerous
It's all so tiresome.
>>
>>107094154
Shit man, it do be like that sometimes.
>>
>>107094125
Just turn it off.

I turned all that shit off on my hpone and never get those alerts/alarms.
I don't remember how tho.

It says on your link that test alerts are opt-out. Maybe it's an implementation issue?

you can turn it off on android.

In Taiwan it's pretty common, maybe 10 per year... we have this for earthquakes, floods, typhoons and air defense drills but last year picrel made me consider immediate suicide. Turned out it wasn't a nuke but a misclassification from the early warning system due to a Chinese satellite launch
