This is the Acid2 test. Developed twenty years ago, every single browser of the time could render it correctly.
As far as I can tell, neither Firefox or Chrome render it correctly anymore. What a sad state of affairs.

>every single browser of the time could render it correctly
that test was infamous for causing a fail in every browser of the time
>>
>>107096063
How exactly is it not rendering properly? Are you complaining about the nose being one pixel off?

And every single browser was updated until it could pass the test. And yet, twenty years later, they don't anymore.

That's the reference image. Modern browsers produce results such as >>107096927

looked just fine on firefox though

I wish progress was linear. I don't like the state software is in today and really didn't expect it to get as bad as it has, I earnestly thought it would be difficult for the world to not cumulatively reap the benefits of decades of development but it seems like we've gone backwards in many if not all regards.
>>

Its due to dpi scaling or zoom. Acid2 only works at 100% scale. I have tested it on multiple browsers, it renders perfectly at 100% but breaks if you zoom in.

>>107099025
same. i don't get what's so special about it. also OP is a faggot

works on my firefox

Chrome has a weird issue where if you load the acid2 test with any amount of zoom, it will never look right again in that browser window. It renders correctly if you load acid2 into a fresh tab which is already set to 100%.
>>
>>107099544
okay, I got it to pass...
I had to load
https://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html
detach the tab, drag that onto a monitor with no dpi scaling, then ctrl-minus down to 100% scale in the browser before loading the test
that made it pass
what a clusterfuck

It does not render correctly in Firefox 145.

I would argue that if zooming or DPI scaling breaks it, then that's an issue with the browser, not the test.

Threadly reminder ACID was developed by a Google employee on Google company time, specifically aimed at Microsoft Internet Explorer, and implemented imaginary "web standards" that didn't exist on any web site on the face on the entire planet except on the ACID website for years (sound familiar?).

Threadly reminder to fact check your claim before spouting bullshit
>Acid2 was first proposed by HÃ¥kon Wium Lie, chief technical officer of Opera Software and creator of the widely used Cascading Style Sheets web standard.
Chrome didn't even exist at the time, outside of basic interoperability google had relatively little incentive to care.

Renders fine in the latest ungoogled chromium.
Bit of a pointless metric though. If it couldn't render it, my laptop can't read floppy disks either. So what?
