This, but the d-pad is so fucking bad. They overcorrected the diagonals from the early models, so now they're too easy to press by accident. Not to mention the latency.
I managed to get them to send me a Tegenaria (T3Lite) free of charge as "warranty" because I didn't want to just receive another fucked up T3Pro, and that one is a straight up improvement in most ways despite being dirt cheap. Only not a fan of how the middle two buttons feel and the Start placement. Supposedly they're going to release a wireless version later.

Also got a Aolion j20 from the chinks for pennies to use as a glorified remote most of the time. Don't even own a Switch.

Still nice to see there's even more advantages in Bluetooth latency, custom dongles can be annoying.

What's the point if the battery life is good enough and you keep it in a dock anyways? No need to swap cells either. Dualsense has an average battery life of 9 hours and if you go to the bathroom or get a snack, you can temporary dock it, even 5 minutes charges enough for half an hour.

The Pro 2 and Xbox Series controllers are severely lacking in features, low polling rate, no gyro.

My favourite still, I ended up with hall effect sticks because the old sticks were starting to lose their mechanical spring. The sensors still worked okay. D-pad is 3d printed and mimics a sega saturn mechanism internally.

Yes it has good ergonomics, vastly superior to their old DS3 for sure and I personally prefer it to DS4 though that controller is quite comfortable too.

Has a third party version of this controller been made yet?
I fear my current one will have issues eventually.

Steam Controller 2 is rumoured to be releasing very soon, it's pretty much the deck controller with better handles. Pic related is the icon recently found added to the Steam client

Dualshock 4 but Dualsense is apparently better. I just don't see a reason to upgrade.

I don't like asymmetric controllers and the Xbox controllers are very uncomfortable in my hands in long sessions. The Nintendo Pro I can tolerate.

I should have kept my original rubber sticks longer, They were getting worn but its was a shock how much faster the cheap replacements wear down.
The hall sensors actually came with its own set of replacements sticks.

They're going to ruin it by making it asymmetric right?

You really are nothing but a simpleton with a one-track mind for cock. I like that. Maybe Daddy can teach you how to properly slobber all over his meat mallet while you thrust back onto one of those wall-mounted cocks you have. My name's Kevin, but you can call me Daddy.
I've added my email so I'll know when you message me kitten.

8bitdo pro 3 for pc, dualsense for ps5. Used to just use an xbox controller for pc but decided to give the 8bitdo a try, so far I like it alot. My only complaint is the mushy face buttons that are removable, they could feel better. Otherwise its great, I wish I could use it with my ps5.

Who knows, maybe if enough people email retro-bit they'll do it.

I have a whole collection, it really depends on the game. For modern stuff, I tend to use either an 8bitdo pro 3, switch pro 2 or a dualsense these days. For older stuff it's either OEM controllers from back in the day or the NSO repros. GameCube stuff is a toss, either my ancient T3 controller, NSO GCC or my custom 8bitdo board based build in an extremerate shell, depending on where I'm playing gamecube games.
>>107108782
You probably want the drop-in 8bitdo board then. I think it's compatible with OEM sticks, so you can get one of these cheap hall-effect repros and keep swapping them whenever they wear out. Metal sticks go into hundreds of dollars when you can score one.

>>107110353
I hope people mod this one, I don't like domed xbox-style face buttons, or their triggers, if they're all supposed to be clicky, give me a slider to turn them into hair triggers with proper mouse switch stops. Also, the dpad better be clicky, once you go clicky you can't go back.

I own one. It has a lot of neat features. I don't understand the complaints aboutthe dpad. The right face buttons should be micro stitches like all the others and not membrane. The layout changing motor is a really dumb gimmick and annoying more than anything. Add shift layers those changes and it would be 99% perfect. The rgb light stuff is gay but appeals to gaymers i suppose.

i also like the charging station. basically makes battery life a non issue since you are always charging it when you don't use it. only issue i have with it is that gyro only works over bluetooth which kinda sucks. also it doesn't want to connect on linux mint for some reason. it like connects and disconnects all the time but works fine on arch. i wish the xbox one controller had gyro and hall effect sticks.

All handheld controllers that don't support the newest standards are ewaste, virtually indistinguishable from the hardwired NES controllers of yore.
The newest standards in this case include trackpads, joysticks that don't suck, triggers that are at least dual stage and full 6 DoF tracking functionality.

yeah I'm going to be picking it up the second it goes on sale. for other games my go-to is still this motherfucker, the battery life is measured in MONTHS, god-tier d-pad and the buttons are the best feel of anything except possibly the Wii U Gamepad. also works perfectly over bluetooth on linux, but you need either some fucky drivers or an adapter to use it on Windows with bluetooth
>>
>>107097197
I hate to say it but GameSaar actually makes good controllers.
>>
>>107110353
It looks really good. I liked first steam controller but the lack of d-pad made it awkward for many games that require precise directional input, especially retro.

Is there a PS2/Daulshock 2 adapter that differentiates the left stick from d-pad?
>>
>>107116955
Mine lasted 8 years before the stick started acting up (not drifting). Didn't even have to replace the whole stick, just swapped one of the washers(?) in the module. The only reason I stopped using it is because I wanted back buttons.
Everything is like this nowadays. New units of the same model will break in 2 years, old ones will last you 2 decades with minor repairs. Same with the original G502 I'm still using. For longevity at reasonable prices you might actually be better off buying chink shit at this point.

I know new one is about to release soon (in Valve time™ anyway), but is there a way to get a replacement dongle for the original? I lent mine to a friend, who immediately lost the receiver, and when I contacted Valve to request another even thought it was almost brand new to the market they basically told me to go fuck myself. Bluetooth mode always felt like shit in comparison because of the difference in latency, and I think it also did something to weaken/disable the haptics, but I'd be keen to dig it out storage and give it another go if I could get an actual USB adaptor for it.
