Why aren't you using the rat DE?
>fastest file manager on linux when changing folders, the most fast and instant loading and transfering of any file manager on linux and the best file manager on linux
>fastest application launching, most apps like thunar, settings, task manager take between 20-30 milliseconds vs 300-500 milliseconds on KDE(AKA half a second)
>easy to customize and just werks, stable and easy to use and understand as a new user
>just werks, stable and lightweight, uses very little CPU or RAM and the compositing is light weight

I don't feel like doing everything manually through text files and thunar is the best file manager on linux. At that point you're basically creating your own desktop with tint 2 or you're leaning more into WM territory so just use a proper one like xmonad

Wayland is the new display system on loonix. On wayland only the focused/highlighted app can read your keystrokes. I like XFCE. I am currently using KDE because it has more features, more development effort behind it, functional wayland. I'm on Manjaro XFCE since years and it just works, mostly I like that it has pamac as a package manager. No problem with archinstall but while it has plenty of packages available to be selected during installation it doesn't have pamac package. I like the idea of light distribution but not too light.

Exactly how I ended up on Manjaro. Never looked for anything else afterwards, it's perfectly balanced.
