Why is the tech industry and innovation so bad in Australia? Australia is just an extension of the USA these days.

>No culture of their own
>Only thing to do at night is go to night clubs, drugs, sports, and tattoos
>Population is globohomo mystery meat
>Cities are dominated by the same USA conglomerates and megacorporations
>US TV shows, movies, music dominates the local culture
>Entire population under 40 has been raised on US internet and US culture
>In many cases the youth use American English more than Australian English
>Brisbane only has hotels, rooftop bars and drugs in the valley
>Sydney only has malls and the opera house
>Melbourne only has homeless everywhere in the CBD and St Kilda beach
>Regional towns only have ice and meth
>>
Since this is the Australian thread, anybody know whether the NAB app works on LineageOS?
>>

because Australia is basically just America but with more british (criminal) descendant population. whole population of australia is low class scum. it's basically just a muttistani playground for them to test weapons in the desert and use as a pawn in ww3 against muh chyna.

aus is a hard labor penal colony
it's exactly why nightclubs, drinking, drugs, sports, prostitutes, gambling is key economy
you wouldn't want aus to be some advanced "tech industry", 'cause they'd rape civil liberties the same or even harder than UK
basic Freedom of Speech is not guaranteed in that penal colony

they had this one show about mermaids on netflix. it was kool.

Tech too complicated mate we just export unrefined commodities, import the finished products, and debase our currency to pump up a speculative housing bubble. Consume mortgage and leverage for new mortgage - fit in or fuck off. She'll be right mate.

The Australian currency is basically the price of iron ore, so nobody want's to invest in the country since if the price of iron ore tanks so does their investment

Australia is number one in biotech, agriculture, medical and mining technology. things that matter more than rage bait social media and AI slop. Also very high in published papers per capita in cutting edge tech research.

Almost as many convicts were shipped to the US as Australia and further back in time so more descendents of slaves and criminals exist in the US than Australia which probably explains the high crime rates there.

Compared to Shitstralia, America has:
- freedom
- lower taxes
- better education
- better quality of life
- better position on the globe
- hotter women

I love America

I think I watched that. A show about hot teenage mermaids swimming around in a tropical paradise & getting it on with each other, jfc how could I not? But then I put it on and instantly remembered how fucking stupid and annoying anyone under 30 is.

US
- can't walk the streets at night because you get shot
- have to get searched for weapons when entering a building
- get charged high tariffs when importing from overseas
- Annoying ohwww my gaahhhd noise when you fuck their women
- Political gerrymandering and strong money oriented advantage in policy
- Shit voting system that benefits unqualified lunatics in government
- Inconsistent application of rule of law
- Less holidays / free time
- Have to have a job or die from easily preventable illness
- 83/100 on the freedom index compared to Aus 95/100

Australia can't stop winning guys.

This is a pretty asinine question that you've answered yourself. It's an extension of the USA because the USA is the cultural and economic dominant in the world.
>>
>>107101325
They speak English natively , if you speak native English then you're local culture is doomed
>>
>>107100784
>>No culture of their own
Sure we have a culture. It's british (i.e., imperial/victorian english), since we're british.
>>Only thing to do at night is go to night clubs, drugs, sports, and tattoos
bogan, bogan, can be okay, bogan
>>Population is globohomo mystery meat
yeah now that is trve british cvlture
>>Cities are dominated by the same USA conglomerates and megacorporations
not really, global investors are fairly diverse
>>US TV shows, movies, music dominates the local culture
yes, but only for retards and wonks who like looking at the hegemon
>>Entire population under 40 has been raised on US internet and US culture
false, but maybe change the age to 10 and you're right
>>In many cases the youth use American English more than Australian English
I think if anything the australian accent is getting closer to a weird BAME accent, in the cities.
>>Brisbane only has hotels, rooftop bars and drugs in the valley
Brisbane only had outdoor toilets until the 80s. It's the penal colony of the penal colony. it's a new city.
>>Sydney only has malls and the opera house
I guess 5.6 million sydneysiders really like opera.
>>Melbourne only has homeless everywhere in the CBD and St Kilda beach
I guess 5.3 million melbournians really like having no house and one little beach
>>Regional towns only have ice and meth
now this one is true but redundant

>Australia is basically just America but with more british (criminal) descendant population
Lolno. Britain was sending all their convicts to America up until a certain event in 1776, which is the whole reason they came to Australia in the first place. 24% of European arrivals to the Thirteen Colonies (today's eastern USA) were convicts and an additional 66% were serfs. This means that at the time of American independence, merely 10% of the Europeans who'd come to the Thirteen Colonies were free settlers. Comparatively, just 20% of Australia's European arrivals were convicts as of the final penal shipment, and as we never had white serfs, that left our free settlers at 80% of the white migrants.

Moreover, Australian convicts were pettier criminals than American convicts, since 220 capital offences during Australian colonisation; when England began settling North America, only 50 capital offences existed.

What city are you based in?

In Sydney there are lots of Hackathons, remote work houses and innovation hubs.
It seems like many people are working on AI and there are many startups about. Seems like there are heaps of communities.
