Once they have done this, they have established the identity of posts, comments, etc on every website. Then once they have established this they can ban, restrict, and punish badthink as much as they please. Digital ID isn't needed for this but will be pushed because it makes it much easier. Digital ID will be tied to your devices, and untied devices will simply be unable to use online services like google, cloudflare, AWS, Azure, etc. They will be build with google and apple's closed off systems and advanced device attestation so that modifying code execution is prevented by signing of the code execution itself. Once they have this system globally there will be no more freedom.
