The French have always been pants on head retarded about IT security. They have at least one hydroelectric dam that used to have its control system open to the internet without authentication because some genius built a html control panel for their ancient SCADA systems that wasn't meant to be connected to the internet and didn't have authentication. The same dam has previously flooded downstream areas for apparently no reason.DHS IT security section was trying to contact them for years to get it fixed but the French either didn't respond or refused to admit there was a problem.

>>107103012Always wondered what the point of audits is if you are not going to take action afterwards anyway >In a technical tender document dating from the summer of 2025, the software appears in a surprising list of “software that cannot be updated.” With 'Sathi', no fewer than eight software programs are affected, managing video surveillance, access controls, servers, etc. Each one is an important piece of the puzzle in museum security. Another document from 2021 also states that the 'Sathi' software was still running on a machine using Windows Server 2003, a solution that Microsoft has not supported since 2015.http://archive.today/8sViV

You will not get magic internet aids from connecting it to the internet because its unreachable to attackers from the internet. You would have to connect it directly, which is not the case for any normal user.

why don't they just update the surveilance software for xp?
