Ever since I carry a laptop in my pocket, my productivity went up. You should set yourself free from google and apple really.
>>107102760>productivityat what, being poor?
>>107102760>You should set yourself free from google and apple really>windows installedGotta be bait
>>INSTALL LINUX! NOW!!
>>107102792>>107102795I received my 2TB Samsung SSD today. Chill. Linux Mint will show up soon.

>>107102760>screen too small>keys too small>winblows
so you need both tiny fingers and gigantic pockets?
freed from google and apple while rolling in microsoft pigshit
Może przetrzyj kiedyś kaloryfer Michale?
You can't be THAT productive with a UMPC, at least as it is, but it's some of the coziest fucking tech ever created.
do you guys need to play fucking video games at a moments notice?
>>107103104Tyle to nie.
>>107103132is you bald my nigga?
>>107104461I like to keep my hair relatively short but no.
>>107104035There was an era where having a full-fledged PC that fit in your pocket was blisteringly cutting edge, it's not just about gaming. The smartphone simply supplanted it but we lost something special. Even now it still feels more versatile than my phone ever could be. I've always held a soft spot for this form factor ever since I got my Sony Vaio UX-380N.
>>107102760How do you use a tiny keyboard like that? You'd press like four buttons at once, shrek.
Honestly I haven't had a comfy mobile keyboard since the t-mobile sidekick. >>107104535This looks really close to the comfy zone for me.
>>107104569thumbs
>>107104667How does it feel though? Natural? Does it feel like phones that used to come with keyboards?
I can palm a bowling ball with my mutant wreck-it-ralph hands. This shit is for Japanese girls from the 90's and not an option for me
>>107104713For me it's faster than touch keyboard. You can write more precisely. The touchpad on the right is also useful.
>>107104755I also have giant man hands so honestly this might not be a bad purchase.
Pocket-sized computing would have been the ultimate realization of x86 computing but we never quite got there. Almost did but it couldn't get out of the early adoption stage.
>>107104667I almost bought one of these years ago and youre doing a great job of assuring me it would've been the wrong move
Hey! They aold me a real SSD.
>>107104802Hey faggot, this adds nothing...WHY would it have been the wrong move?
I almost got one, it was a choice between a tablet and a a mini laptop, I got the tablet instead cause it was like 5 times cheaper, also I have a desktop so don't know if I'd have use it very often, I just needed something I could read books on
I call this paradigm "surface-less" computing, since even a laptop needs you to rest it on something (a table or, nominally, your lap). This sort of computing can be done simply by holding the device between your hands and nothing else, which is a great idea if it could have evolved properly (all the legacy and current compatibility of Windows' dominant software dynasty but now carried around on your person) but I guess people just didn't see the point of going that small with a computer and couldn't get their minds out of the standard "seated-at-a-keyboard-in-front-of-a-monitor" paradigm for this sort of computing.
>>107104800Can you upgrade the ram or is it soldered
>>107104868They don't make SODIMM modules that would be small enough to fit in a package like this, it has to be soldered.
>>107104868No 16GB soldered LDDR5. Double sided M.2 SSD slot.
>>107104832Because I would rather try to shave my balls with a piranha than have to type on a laptop using my thumbs
>>107104857It turns into a tablet! Also it has the most advanced BIOS I ever saw. Tens of options.
Shitposting from the bathroom is not productivity OP.
It's GNU/Linux time!
>>107102760You know what they say about men with large pockets
>>107104906It is honestly an amazing little device.
I'm 44 so I've lived through all of these devices. My advice is to ditch everything that encourages you to crane your neck down. And don't say skill issue with a picture of someone holding an iphone at eye level, literally no one maintains that habit. The Apple Vision would be an unironically better device to use daily as retarded as they are. Your neck habits can ruin your entire life.
>>107105068I stopped carrying a backpack and my neck stopped hurting.
>>107102760No thanks, Ill just carry my phone like a non-retarded person.
>>107102792No, just a paid shill
>>107102760>rufususe ventoy
>>107104535This, I still have a Nokia N900 and E72 somewhere, also had some hp netbook but it was total garbage.
>>107102760>carrying a GPD in your pocket
>>107105111Homo alert!
>>107105111This is the gayest thing I've seen in quite a while.
Useless toys.
>>107105970Can do more than your phone.
>>107102760How much did u pay? I don't have a use case for this, I would use my ThinkPad e14 anyway, but I want it.
>>107105992So can a laptop.>But you can't fit a laptop in your pocket! Why in the fuck would I need to? If I'm on the go I have my backpack with me. You're inventing impractical use cases to justify your toys.
>>107102792>Not immediately installing LinuxBack to /v/ with you retard.

>>107106088To fuck google and fuck apple.
>>107103132
Opted for Xubuntu btw, but it seems to work as good as Mint really. I need to fuck around with touchscreen settings or disable it under linux.
>>107106497Fuck that, install Gentoo.
>>107106734no
>>107106497nice gutfello fatman
I still have my orginal GPD pocket. The chinky keyboard has died so it's touchscreen only. It's so slow that it's pretty much useless. It's a shame because it was such a neat device. I have a steamdeck now that scratches my umpc itch.
>>107102760keyboard too small

>>107102760I can't even imagine how slow and shitty that thing must be from trying to run modern Windows. >>107104535It was a cool concept but the reality was shit. Awful battery life, sluggish to use and holy fuck did you hear the fan on those things kick on all the time.
>>107110076N300 is 8c/8t. Runs Windows fine.
>>107103132I haven't had a chance to use a modern netbook BUT I have a theoryThe pocket and especially micro fit into smaller satchel bags and fanny packs or even jackets that I'd carry with me anyway, so I would not have to specifically bring a laptop bag, it would just become a part of my EDC.Unlike a classic laptop that you need to find a place to sit down to use, it SHOULD be usable while standing up, save from typing a lot of text at a time. That means I SHOULD be able to use it to do studying and coding that I sometimes do in my free time. If I use it to doomscroll, then I achieved almost nothing, but if I force myself to write, code, design as I do on the go, then I will defeat the "smart" Phone.Pin it to 5W to avoid heating and maximise battery life, raise it to 15W only if compiling something truly massive or running something demanding.Am I delusional?
>>107110762My boss literally asked me to find her a laptop that fits in her bag. Nothing else mattered.
>>107110762I am a netbook fan but I really don't like using laptops without a desk or a mouse, and I hate touchscreens. That being said, there have been a chink mini-laptop resurgence with better specs and even smaller form factors, which I am always happy about.

i dont really need anything more than an android phone for calls and texts when im in public. public isnt a good place to do computing.
