You don't see anyone saying Windows 95 was the best, nor that Windows Vista was the best, nor even that Windows 8 was the best. The consensus, across MULTIPLE generations, young and old, is that XP and 7 were the best versions of Windows. They were universally seen as such at the time, and continue to be seen in that manner today.

Calling the XP and 7 praise "nostalgia" fails to explain why there is no equivalent nostalgia for any other Windows edition, nor why said praise transcends age brackets.
>>
XP was a needed improvement
Same with 7
That's all people want: for things to get better.

I've been using Windows since the 95 and (with the exception of ME and Vista) each new version was a total objective upgrade until 8.
>>
it was always garbage.

No, that's your opinion. Why do you validate your opinions like this? Are you 4 years old?
>>
XP wasnt that good, it just werked which made it likable. it was a pain in the ass for the likes of drivers and installing hardware.

How would you feel if you didn't have breakfast this morning? The point is that an oldfag by definition cannot be a XP or 7 baby duck.

What is this supposed to mean I keep seeing it I feel like an ESL

ME was shocking bad in ways that defy reason. It's like they rushed all the best parts of Windows 2000 before they were ready.

Open Shell fixes Windows 10/11.
>muh animations thoughhhh!!!!
stfu

Open Shell doesn't fix the RAM usage, CPU usage, everything being React-based or Electron-based, the telemetry, and, indeed, the operating systems being ugly.

>gregarity argument
its all fine and dandy until you realize that the majority of humans are retards. by definition.

win 8.1 was my favorite.
and i used w3.11, w95, w98, wxp, w8, w8.1, and w10
i never used 7 bc it was bloat compared to xp.
which itself was bloat compared to w98

Me wasn't even proper Windows 2000 since 2k used the NT kernel and Me used the 9x kernel. They were visually similar but worked in completely different ways under the hood, there was 0 reason to "upgrade" to ME if you were using something like 98 SE
>>107102927
All of the 3 OSes you mentioned had their own faults and benefits. Vista in particular was robbed of its spotlight because M$ overestimated the capability of consumer PCs at the time, that's why it ran like shit for most people. 8 had all of its issues fixed with 8.1, the most notable one being stability. I've talked to plenty of people before who've said 8.1 is the most stable version of Windows they've used.
As for 95 there's not much to talk about. It was succeeded by 98 (not SE) which introduced a LOT but it was also notoriously unstable.

How does that validate your turd for brains opinions and turn them into general consensus among your imaginary demographics?
You're a troubled fat boy.

Why are you retards incapable of understanding that their enduring respect cannot be due to baby ducks if said respect is cross-generational? If it were nostalgia, then Windows 95 and Vista be remembered just as fondly; they aren't.

Explain that in a way that does not contradict your own "nostalgia" hypothesis.
>>
>>107103059
lmao no it doesn't retard
it fixes ONE issue which is the navigation centered around the Start menu but it leaves the rest unchanged. Both W10 and 11 have a gigantic amount of flaws that need to be fixed, especially 11.

>which itself was bloat compared to w98
Nobody gave a shit, Windows 9X was generally regarded as unstable and everyone saw XP as a godsend after Me, even if it looked fucking ridiculous. At least it still supported the classic theme.
>>
>>107103133
>everyone
>>107103125
>everyone

i dont care about everyone
everyone is fucktarded so obvioulsy their opinions are, as well
i used w98SE because wxp HALVED the performance of my pc in certain tasks like ripping cd
i installed xp only when sp2 was already out
when le everone was suffering with a sluggish ass computer that gave no appreciable advantage to w98SE
>muh stabilitie
you came from w/me, so everything would look stable at that point lamao
same phenomenon why le everyone thinks fondly about w10 when its a piece of fucking garbage

dont quote "everyone"
because "everyone" is fucking retarded
