They ruined it with 7 (or vista?) to promote the search feature I believe. They made the start bar program list alphabetical with touch screen spacing, but then backtracked to allow the classic program folder list. 8 went full retard, then back to the alphabetical list, now it's icons and search bar again. Some cunt at Microsoft has this as his vision for what the "app drawer" should be and has been pushing it for like 15 years.

Why the fuck are people so bothered about a menu? Type the name of the program and it should show up.I swear to god this is why 8.1 failed so much. People going on about the fucking start menu. Towards the end of its "life" it was great but no one cared at that point because they were either getting used to 10 buttfuckery or staying on 7 permanently. It could have had at least 2 or 3 more years of manufacturer driver support but nope, people disliked the start menu.
