Should elon musk buy reddit? He bought twitter for $44 billion, and reddit is only worth $37 billion. In 3 years, his net worth has increased by 200 billion. Reddit is one of the biggest site on the web, and certainly profitable. How can he convince the reddit owners to sell their site?
plebbit
>>107112602He should buy Reddit to get rid of the bots
>>107112602I hope he does, I want to see the Plebbit seethe. Many would flee to other sites, maybe some would check out 4chan, but that would generate a lot of funny content.
You know Reddit is like 4chan in that it's actually run by volunteers? If they all quit there's no siteI mean I guess he could have Grok curate the content but then it would really just be peak dead internet with both bot moderators and posters.
>>107112602He tried not to buy twitter for $44 billion thoughever. The courts made him.
>>107112602Would it change anything to the abusive censorship? Reddit is like a place you will get banned from forever just for sneezing.
>>107112656>maybe some would check out 4chanI tend to think that the sane users already use both, and only the nasty brainwashed SJWs visit only reddit.
>>107112656This is why I hope he does it. Oh dear lord it would be so funny. The jannies would throw a fit and delete entire subs but "deleted" probably is just a boolean in the DB he can flip.>>107112758Yes? That's what changed on xitter. Reddit had r/niggers once
>>107112753He was playing 69D chess and won
>>107112602He doesn't need to. It is already shit.
>>107112602Reddit is literally 80% bots nowadays. And the "people" using it are not much better than bots.
>>107112602I hope so, the amount of acking by tranny jannies would be hilarious, xeirs life's work ruined in an instant
>>107113025>Reddit is literally 80% bots nowadaysso is 4chud. so is every social media.
>>107112665That's why he should buy it
>>107112602He should buy reddit right nowBUY REDDIT RIGHT NOW ELON MUSK QUICK!After elon musk owned reddit, He will get rid of bots completely and he will loosen censorship on this site
After elon musk owned reddit, many users that hate Elon musk will flee to Lemmy and the Reddit will be a paradise social media site.
>>107113249So where are the people?
>>107112602>How can he convince the reddit owners to sell their site?he just needs to continue buying on the stock market until he gets to over 50% and then he can replace the board to do what he wants. 80% of reddit is available to buy on the stock market (although people own it) so you can assume or imagine that at different prices they would sell. just buy everything.
>>107112602No. I don't want more russian shilling, which consists like 70% of the content that is on x.
>>107113483outside touching grass and having sex.
>>107112602>and certainly profitable.It isn't. And it can't be saved.
>>107112602elon the kind of guy to marry potato brained retarded women and dump them in the woods to free them
>>107112602He should buy reddit and shove it up his ass and yours.
He ruined shitter in 1 year, now the search function, algorithm and unlogged access are mediocre compared to 2021.
>>107112602elon should convert all his networth into pennies and shove them up his bum one at a time
>>107113981Elon's net-worth is about 500 billion dollars, so that'd be 50 trillion pennies. One penny weighs 2.5g and is 97.5% zinc. That'd be 121 million tons of zinc. That'd be 25% of all zinc that has been produced since 1960.
>>107113483doomscrolling TikTok slop content created by bots but never putting anything out themselves
>>107114064I wish to live in world where zinc don't exist
>>107114064put to good use
>>107112602Oh god no, I don't need this schizo to make another website even worse than it is
>>107112602
>>107112602he should buy the federal reserve and rug pull the entire world.
>>107112602leftards would be finished
>>107112602the current reddit ceo literally just made a fat billion dollarydoosthey'd be more likely to buy X
>>107113483People?
>>107112602mfw it's 2032 and the jeets are on x/reddit x/twitter x/4chan using the built-in banking application
>>107112656They'd move to Lemmy. Or maybe Digg since it's making a comeback.
>>107113674Good. I've seen ads for Plebbit on TV and in the fucking subway. I hope they keep bleeding money.
>>107112753>>107112804the courts didn’t force him to buy, the courts forced Dorsey to sell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_v._Ford_Motor_Co.
>>107112602Plebbit is for boomers, it'd make more sense to buy Discord or make an equivalent
My God the chimpout would be fatally hilarious. They'd try some impotent organized protest like "this sub has gone private because of nazis" or "everyone move to bluesky where real freedom of speech lives" (yeah fucking right). Please do it, Elon. >I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I think something incredible has happened.
>>107112656>I hope he does, I want to see the Plebbit seethe.This. The salt would be ebin.
>>107112602It would be pretty funny ngl
>>107113522>replace the board and do what you wantNope. He would still have a responsibility to the shareholders
>>107112656>Many would flee to other sitesThey wouldn't do shit. Everytime something happens everyone bitches and talks big talk. Does a 2hr walkout on using reddit that 1% of the members take place in to show they mean buisness then high five each other and continue to use reddit searching for the next thing to whine about
>>107112753Couldn't he have just taken the $1b loss? I remember that being available obviously a lot to lose regardless, but it's not like he paid the whole $44b in the first place. He took a lot of investments from billionaires including Arabs
he should. most the "main" or general subreddits are subverted and controlled by a small group of mods that manipulate narratives and prevent genuine conversation. the smaller subreddits are generally fine. the rest of reddit is largely spammed by shill/karma bots pushing political narratives. It's obnoxious when you aren't logged into an account and see what the general populace would see. i imagine the reaction would be similar to what happened to the protest over the reddit API stuff - those opposed would close their subreddits and make it impossible to find information. That would probably go on for a month. As before, it would be incredibly aggravating, as the centralization of information and the enshittification of internet search results with AI slop has made information harder to find. Links would go to reddit posts that are locked behind closed forums. This would either force the denizens of reddit to find places elsewhere - possibly decentralizing the internet further (lessening the centralized hold of information and political shilling that comes with it). Or, it would lead to a more balanced reddit which is actually usable - especially if he finds a way to counter the shillbots or corrupt moderation. People might try to make a new reddit - similar to what happened with Twitter and BlueSky. It probably wouldn't take hold, and the result would just be a lukewarm boycott that never amounts to people leaving the platform. The removal of the corrupt, biased moderators and decentralization of the internet would be better than what reddit is now. The fact that all the smaller forums on the internet were killed off and have now ended up on reddit has led to a large issue with information retention and archiving. However, it would just get further shilled by all sides - but that could unlock a revenue stream for him.
>>107112642You mean the redditors?
>>107112602>Digg enshitifies>users migrated to new Reddit>Reddit enshitifies>users don't migrate and just put up with the obviously worsening bots and powertripping subreddit jannies
>>107112642But enough about the r*dditors.
>>107112602Did he even repay the debt he took to buy twitter? Has it made a profit yet? How many billions has he paid already in interest for his debt?
>>107112602>insta makes the downvotes transparent>reddit wars just for this
>>107112602>How can he convince the reddit owners to sell their site?SOP - throw a retarded amount of money at them? They'll then throw the keys to the domain at him and run away laughing. Leaving Elon with the (now rapidly emptying of humanity) shell of a social media site.Same as it ever was.
>>107120916He (quite cleverly desu) rolled it in with xAI, so all the retards who invested in that now also defacto own Xitter. I'd hesitate to suggest that some of Elons financial arrangements are a bit on the wobbly side.. but as long as there are retards with cash left in the world, Musk appears to be a magnet for them.
Maybe this would convince that bunch of passive-aggressive frustrated people to leave that shitty site. Reddit is more toxic than 4chan.
SEE!? IT'S THE NEW WORLD ORDER! YOU'RE TOO STUPID TO REALIZE IT! THE FREEMASONS NOW DOMINATE THE WORLD AND ALL YOU DO IS TALK ABOUT BULLSHIT.
>>107112642Why do you think he'd do that? The twitter bot problem just keeps getting worse
>>107120916None (0%) of the debt is in his name. He spent none ($0) of his own money.
I own reddit
>>107112602I really hope he rebrands reddit to Xeddit.
>>107121158There isn't any debt. As>>107120993, investors in xAI woke up one day and found that they had purchased a loss-making social media site, at an even more retarded price than Elon originally paid for it. So the original investors (like BlackRock, Saudis, Larry Ellison and Musk Himself) got their money back, the debt got paid off and xAI investors got left holding the bag. And as Musk still owns majority of xAI, he still owns majority of Twitter.
>>107121205And you even admit it?
>>107112642>He should buy Reddit to get rid of the botsthe bots got worse on twitter since he bought it so...
>>107112794>Reddit had r/niggers onceBASED???
>>107115323>FUCK YOURSELF in the facethat's gotta be a jeet writing that post right?
>>107121528its a movie reference
>>107119890anon, you mention Anglos/Jews without typing out a paragraph with buzzwords.
>>107120504reddit was cool back in the day. I remember taking nazi and racist memes from subreddits like r/edgymemes, r/dankmemes to upload them to my instagram account back in 2016
>reddit worth 30 billionReddit is likely far more botted than twitter was, and it doesn't have the same effect on the national 'conversation'. Elon was just going in depth about his reasons for buying twitter in the first place on his most recent JRE appearance.Reddit just doesn't move the needle the same. The idea that there's "super moderators" that moderate most of the popular subs, and they ban people for having posted in other subs... these people are literally fascists. You say the wrong thing? You're banned. Can't make a new account. Want to post in a sub? SORRY! You need to accumulate "karma" to be able to post anywhere. No thanks. These tards literally banned my account because I posted a YOUTUBE video to a tech subreddit to show how to reset a password. They banned me suggesting I was helping facilitate crime. As though a person who steals a computer cannot themselves search up how to reset a windows password. No thanks.Reddit is hot garbage. The only thing it's useful for is when you search for something, and can find a thread where someone has had the same issue, and you can troubleshoot with it. For everything else it's stupid. And you could replicate that website anywhere else without the nazi tier moderation for far less than x billion.Elon could make 'xeddit' from the ground floor and it would not cost 1 billion.
>>107123113i got banned from r/pics for simply posting in r/kotakuinaction. The bot said i have to delete years worth of posts on that sub to be unbanned. This is something you can do apparently
>>107112642it's okay anonno one gets sarcasm these days
>>107113913>t. bluesky troonSeethe more, faggot.
>>107120504The API protests proved that redditfags won't let go of their precious mod positions under any circumstances.
>>107112602Yeah
he should buy 4chan
>>107115323>Defends hiring jeets and chinks>Gets backstabbed by a chink
>>107112665Redditors are too addicted to quit using reddit. Remember when they started charging money for the API and many subreddits went on strike for like 2 weeks and then everything returned to normal. Even the Owner said on their faces: the blackouts will pass and he wouldn't budge. Lmaohttps://www.theverge.com/2023/6/13/23759559/reddit-internal-memo-api-pricing-changes-steve-huffman
>>107124642and then people found a way to bypass the API with a patch and it didn't matter anymore
>>107124851Really? Don't think that lasted for long
>>107124642>Redditors are too addicted to quit using reddit. You're becoming self-aware, Redditor.Everything else you said is wrong. Reddit threstened to ban the head mods and Reddit never put the API behind a paywall.
>>107125740>The totally-not-a-redditor knows more than the redditor
>>107125740>Reddit never put the API behind a paywall Imagine being so confidently incorrect. Wew lad.
>>107112602Net worth isn't the same as petty cash. Net worth is the value of all the shit on a persons name, like cars, houses, and most importantly, stocks. Stocks can't be sold or else their values will plummet, at best they can be traded.
>>107126268>Net worth is the value of all the non-financial and financial assets owned by an individual or institution minus the value of all its outstanding liabilities.>A stock is a security that represents ownership of a fraction of the corporation that issued it. Elon Musk needs to buy 4chan from that rando Japanese guy who doesn't even know English. Does he even know he's the owner of 4chan?
>>107129475Lol
>>107115323He needs his slaves. He just wants the money lmao. Such a grifter and aspie weirdo fr.
>>107124642The API thing just meant that the average user had to use the official app or the website. It was mild inconvenience for some users. Musk turning Reddit into X would be much larger disturbance.
>>107129522arguably, his transforming Twitter into Shitter was pretty big (at the time) as well. It used to be journalists favorite hangout, surprised Musk gets off as lightly he does for completely trashing the fucking place. But yeah, reddit would whine like bitches stuck in a beartrap.
>>107129571The problem is that there are no alternatives to these sites because of whole decade of monopolisation of various niches and the network effect making everyone refuse to move to other sites. X was such a huge change that people made probably the only somewhat successful alternative (Bluesky). But then again idk if Reddit network effect is as strong. From the few months I used that site I understand that while you can follow users, it’s completely pointless to do so and everyone just follows subreddits, which are closed off communities that don’t interact much with eachother, so if Musk hypothetically deleted or ruined lot of big subreddits people would move to alternative at masse. This basically already happened in 2018 when Reddit banned lot of conservative subreddits and started going left wing, which caused /pol/ to be filled with conservative Redditors.
>>107112602He should buy 4chan and make antibharatism and antisemitism illegal. I only want bullshit normie opinions here.
>>107129606>and antisemitism illegal.Eat shit, die in a fire kike. Am I right, fellow (((White man)))?
