>Buy miniLED TV>memed into believing it's better than OLED/Won't burn in/"Futureproof">Local Dimming algo is so aggressive it lights up and darkens over any little thing causing constant annoying as shit flickers on everything>No settings make it better just make it go from very shit to less shit but still shit >Still has halos I AM SICK OF THIS FUCKING SHIT I AM TIRED OF FALLING FOR MEMES EVERY TIME I TRY TO SAVE CASH OR THINK ABOUT FUTUREPROOFING I HAVE TO BUY SHIT AGAIN AND WASTE TIME ON THIS FUCKING SHITASS BULLSHIT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NO MORE I'M DONE
>>107113454Why didn't you just buy oled like a normal person? If your too poor you should have bought a regular ips lcd (they are actually pretty nice in 2025), but noooooo you went and bought some memed garbage
LCDbros, we won.
>>107113454you were told to wait for microled, but you didn't listen.
>>107113454works on my machine
>>107113454>lights up and darkens over any little thing causing constant annoying as shit flickers on everythingThis is so annoying. I will never buy an LCD again unless it expressly lists "No local dimming functionality" on the box.I will not read the fine print and I will not read reviews. I will not hunt for it in the menus. It must not be implemented in that TV.Until then, it's OLED.
Can't you just turn off local dimming?
OP there's no current display technology that's perfect. You just fell for it, it happens, there's at least 20 threads a day shitting on OLED to make sure that you end up falling for this.
>>107113454>EVERY TIME I TRY TO SAVE CASH OR THINK ABOUT FUTUREPROOFING I HAVE TO BUY SHIT AGAIN AND WASTE TIME ON THIS FUCKING SHITASS BULLSHIT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NO MORE I'M DONEBecause you don't do the effort to understand what you're doing. Take a few hours to understand what are those tech, how they work, and you'll be able to take better decisions. This is not limited to tech, you need to do this for any important decison in your life.
>>107113454TVs are actually alright as an OLED application. You watch a movie or an episode of some show a day, maybe play a game here and there, it's mostly going to be full-screen video with no static elements and it's not going to see that much daily use. OLED is perfectly fine for this use case, it's not going to visibly burn in particularly quickly. You lose out on all-screen brightness butOLED sucks ass for computer monitors, because those can and will be used for long periods of time with static UI elements, so you will get burn-in rather quickly and as such you might wish to avoid them altogether if you use your computer for anything beyond playing AAA moviegames.

>>107113454Is there any reason companies can't just layer a monochrome OLED panel and a color LCD?
>>107113454Audio is a solved problem> MP3 320 / Opus / FLAC> $150 headphones> $500 5.1 surround systemVideo is a solved problem> 1080 in h265 @ 3GB/h> 4K in h265 @ 10GB/h> $500 TVAny other thought entering your mind was put there by advertisers trying to trick you into buying the next big thing which adds almost nothing to the above setup.> Imagine watching movies in 8K!> Imagine having 32 surround speakers!> Imagine you are gay
>>107113454you hate smart tvs
>>107114221The only really good thing about CRTs is motion clarity and OLEDs are getting close enough it doesn't really matter anymore
>>107113454I'm still on a 1080p plasma and don't plan on "upgrading" any time soon.
>>107113454don't blame miniled. you just bought a shitty implementation.
Just buy an OLED. I have been using an OLED monitor for 3 years and haven't encountered any burn-in boogiemen.
>use the same 1080p flat screen from 15 years ago>don't even know what the display technology is>has literally none (0) of the problems people keep complaining aboutWhy would I ever "upgrade"? Between the """smart""" """features""", ads, dead pixels, nonexistent QA in manufacturing, weird auto dimming, weird sound where music is 10x as loud as dialogue (even with volume equalization ticked), and everything else.
>>107114344All of the things you said are good started out as "put there by advertisers trying to trick you into buying the next big thing". You just reached a point where you're too old to keep up. Which is fine, you're not the target market anyway until you turn 60. Then you'll randomly start buying the newest TV every few years.
>>107116139>"upgrade"to a larger panel or faster refresh rate>dead pixelshuh? i'd return anything with a dead pixel. It's not 2010.>weird sounddon't use 5.1 audio unless you have an actual center channel.
