>>107113945I love making simple sites on geocities/neocities but I am a horrible writer with a short attention span. I have an offline site that I haven't been able to finish the content writing and remain yet to be uploaded for like 8 years now. Pic not related
I tried to start a blog this year, but very quickly ran out of ideas. Now it stands as a monument to my failure: https://codeblarg.com
>>107117846Check out www.cameronsworld.net for some inspiration. Most gifs are clickable links, which open a fake in-browser browser called "Catscape Navigator". The dude found THOUSANDS of archived geocities pages. Oh, and use headphones/speakers for the MIDI background track.
>>107116260
>>107117930youre trying too hard to make every article really good. thats good but youll create procrastination for yourself. dont be afraid to post nonsense. a poem for example. its your blog, who are you trying to impress?
>https://danieljones.authis is my cool website with cool blog poststhe guestbook is cool!!
>>107118554I thought I was putting in too little effort.Maybe I'll just give up on code for a while and solve dumb physics problems.
>>107118837i guess its just me, personally. i'd prefer just reading your thoughts about the world rather than you explaining problems. i'm just saying, do both and youll be more likely to keep going. yes you are a technical person but thats not all we care about as humans.your domain is codeblarg, wheres the "blarg" ie wheres you and your personality and your link list of favorite websites, and books you read, and random quotes you like etc
>https://thuleanotherworld.com/Cool websites anons
>>107117930https://toiletgarage.neocities.org/Mine probably seems cringe. I cleaned out some stuff and planned to update it every month but I already missed the 2nd month
>>107119792no, it has personality and isn't some shitty template. your site is exactly what someones webspace should be
https://eternal-monologue.net/This is my personal website.
>>107120063i like it, turning a wiki into a webpage. efficient to edit and add new entries for yourself.i'm taking the same idea and creating a little 4chan copy. the boards will be personal subject areas the maintainer is interested in. a thread is a blog post, etc.using the platforms we're already familiar with, 4chan, to encourage some 'effort shit posting' out of yourself on a platform you controlhttps://blogchan.pages.dev/
>>107120183Thanks, I appreciate it. The blogchan idea is interesting, I think I'll check it out every once in a while. I'll add you to my link list. Also the link to blogchan's source code doesn't work, so you might want to fix that.
>>107120306yeah sorry, a lot of it is boilerplate and not accurate. the meta pages. waiting to release it until i fix a "security" flaw. the flaw though enables it to be low on resources and free to host, so its important i figure this out. spam tools, rate limiting. supabase is pretty awesome for their free tiers, gotta hand it to them. this thing has websockets and everything so its like real 4chan, youll see posts appear in threads its actually overkill but i've enjoyed working on it.
>>107113945Deez nutz
I have a lot of websites, it's part of diy projectsMain one;https://greertech.neocities.org/https://autodoctor.neocities.org/https://greertechuniversity.neocities.org/https://betterconsole.neocities.org/https://freestream.neocities.org/https://mechanicsonline.neocities.org/https://screenwork.neocities.org/https://habitathunter.neocities.org/A lot of them are based on collating resources into one unified website
>>107116260very cool
>>107116260I hoped disabling my adblocker would actually work. Please add that as a feature.
>>107113945http://sizeof.catIf you have ideas about what I should write, do tell. Don't forget to call me a melanin-enriched individual on my guestbook.
>>107121786Write more about your Hoshi OS. I found that to be the most interesting part of your website.
>>107121786Last night I couldn't sleep so I read your whole ideas page. Probably very antithetical to the website to doomscroll at 2am on the phone reading the typeofdog ideas page.

>>107121786Lists of favorite extensions, Userscripts, Github pages/programs, websites, browser customizations. Stuff like that, basically tech tips & tricks. From what I remember, you have a bookmarks page so you'd basically be building on top of that in a sense.
Awhile ago I got into it and a friend who's way more experienced helped me out trying to learn HTML and CSS but I scrapped that site and made this one and never did anything with it, I have a cool mp3 player thing though for YouTube videos that I made myselfhttps://superiortaste.neocities.org/
>>107113945>font-weight:300KILL YOURSELF
>>107113945https://carino.systems was one I always liked from these threads. There might've been others, but my memory isn't great, we definitely need to compile a list, webring, whatever.
How do you host a (free) site that can't be taken down but is still accessible on clearnet?
>>107126805pwn someone's router idk
>>107116613>be american>le i have allergy to the united states of americacringetranny
Are there any actually good hosts for websites? I've heard self-hosting has KYC risks and people get doxxed or sent garbage constantly from Indians since you're details are able to be looked up.
>>107127126It varies by country. In G*rmany it's super fucked and you have to put an "impressum" in the footer with your address iirc. Where I live though private person buying a domain name stays anonymous. Both in EU.If you don't mind spending an overhead njal.la can host it pretty anonymously. I think if you get a domain name from them they in legal terms "hold it for you" without your name attached.
>>107127174I'm not in Europe, so I guess have more freedom (or less, idk anymore). I'm genuinely just considering Squarespace or some shit at this point.
>>107127126Yeah I've used DigitalOcean and Hetzner, both are fine
>>107127174Germanfag here: You DON'T need an inprint for a private/non-commercial website! Also, there are services that you can get at a reasonable price to legally proxy those your inprint like https://ihr-impressum.de/collections/impressum-mieten for 5€/month
>>107127185Squarespace is antithetical to literally every site posted here lmao. You do you.
>>107116613that is an excellently done website in every detail. there is no detail that isn't excellently done.
>>107127238So recommend me some good ones? I just want something where domain lookups won't show my name and email for jeets to spam me.
>>107113945I still have the now offline niche geocities websites I downloaded around 2000 with httrack
>>107127253>https://www.icann.org/en/contracted-parties/accredited-registrars/list-of-accredited-registrars>there's 3000 of themFuck, no way am I checking all of that. I only know njal.la. Chat, help?
Tip: it starts with "dj"
>>107126952That stinks, I was using MEGA but it keeps getting reported. Maybe someday I'll find an alternative that doesn't require pwning someone's router
>>107125133Very nice video player, wish I knew anything beyond static html css
>>107116613I was going to say please don't be a man but then I remembered what board I'm on. I will give it up for the nice site though.
