i swear to god microsoftwhy can't you just fucking release an update without breaking fucking everything for once?
It's a sysadmin's wet dream to have 800 corporate laptops all bitlocker up the same day.
>Ma' yank parmareven the news is
>>107114453>>107114435>jeets writing articles about problems caused by jeets Would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing.
>gee i wonder why so many people are using linuxNot true according to Steam survey or statcounter.Linux is so bad, and always will be, that people would still rather put up with Microsoft's antics.
>he paid for ransomwareLMAO
>>107114435ffs, i don't use online accountLinux it is.
>>107114435So how do you access your files if you switch out the board?
>>107114471I didn't pay for shit
>>107114435>However, the BitLocker key is always synced to the MSAFalse, it's optional even for retards that use MSA system account on corporate hardware.Key is however always synced to the NSA, but they won't give it back.
>>107114551With your bitlocker recovery key. That's the whole use case. Someone can't just take the drive out of your laptop and connect it to an USB to pull all the files off.
>>107114582yeah I just googled ityou need to write down your 48 character password
KWAB
>>107114595Oh wow so secure!
>>107114435I have SO much Windows being buggy fatigue. Can we let it die already? Just use Linux, Mac, Android, iPad with a keyboard, whatever is better. Just move on. Let Windows die.
>>107114435>Pajeet reporting on the failures of a Pajeet-led corporation Grim
>>107114595yeah you mad?Active Directory and Intune automatically keep the keys in their database so it's not a big issue for the legitimate use case in a corpo environmentBut when microsoft jeets do funny stuff like this >>107114435And you will have to sit on the phone with 800 tech illiterate boomers >>107114450You might as well quit on the spot because you are gonna get burned out welcome to modern tech
>>107114651>android>iosyeah. no thanks.
>>107114657Takes one to know one.
>>107114551You don't.
can't wait to be forced onto this OS when every new software release refuses to run on windows 10sort of like how i was forced onto 7, then 10, and the experience got worse each time
>>107114670keep taking nutella's dick up your ass then, anon.
>>107114750This time I can legitimately see developers going "Do we really want to force people onto 11?"
So where is the god's chosen autist with his OS that saves desktop computing?
I'm a retard, how the fuck do I force my W10 to stop trying to autoupdate to W11? I can only delay it by a month and it gave me a warning about having a limit on pauses.
>>107114435>"gee i wonder why so many people are using linux"thinks that never happened and no one ever thoughtstop being so delusional
>>107114793He died for our sins. And now we're doomed on this forsaken earth. Victims to Roko's basilisk.
>>107114839You have several options.1. Disable the TPM and Secure Boot in BIOS.2. Set the Group Policy to stick to your current version of Windows.3. Reformat and install Windows 10 LTSC 2021 which doesn't get any kind of version updates and is supported until 2032.
>>107114839Buy an win 10 iot ltsc license
Normies that are using W11 home are eating well while /g/tards on their 'based' custom enterprise setups are in shambles.
>>107114869What's the most retard friendly method? I'm guessing it's 2. Is it possible to just install LTSC on top of my current Pro installation?
>>107114435feels like shit like this is happening pretty much every week
>>107114904Yeah, No. 2 would be the quickest, but also the least effective. MS could just ignore it at push the update anyway. The first options would be most sure-fire way to avoid the notification. Just do a restart and go into your BIOS and turn off the TPM and Secure Boot. You can look for instructions with a youtube video for your motherboard model. Installing LTSC would require a full clean installation of the OS, meaning you would need to make a backup of your files, documents and install all your apps again afterwards. This method would require the most work but also would be the best since Windows 10 Pro doesn't have support anymore while LTSC gets support until 2032. It would take you an hour at most. If you're curious you can chekc the Friendly Windows Thread /fwt/ here on /g/.
>>107114912That's because it is.They broke recovery and their own usb imager and bitlocker (in a different way) over the last few weeks
>>107114912more like evey three days now.
>>107114435>why can't you just fucking release an update without breaking fucking everything for once?Because they unironically killed their QA department when Safelight Nutella took over from Cocaine DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS! Ballmer.
>>107114793You'll meet him if you KYS. unironically
>>107114974>an hour at mostThe last time I got a new PC I had to first download everything I wanted to transfer to an external hard drive, then transfer it back to the new PC and between that and messing with configurations it was a weekend long job.
>>107115008Just get Linux you fucking ludite
>>107114435Alternative FOSS software workflow is something akin to late 90s to early 2010s. Is it time to go back? Start learning Base and Calc?
>so many people are using linuxFirst time I have laughed out loud from a post in a while.
>>107114435>BitlockerThis shit literally does nothing. It pops up every time my work laptop battery dies and I boot after charging it. But just rebooting the laptop again completely bypasses the screen and I never have to enter my password.
>>107114793you're just asking for a linux desktop environment that rips everything off 10 1 to 1
>>107115308It's true. There are only so many.
>>107115346Anon it's called TPMYour user password is the key
>>107115455Shut up Somali
>>107115485Ooga booga click clack suck my crack.
>>107114435Is there a chronological list of Microsoft's breaking updates across its versions of Windows?
>>107115548I would just be their list of updates
>>107115584I accidentally the sentence
>>107115120Why would you recommend Linux to someone who is self professed tech illiterate?
>>107115977Why would anyone just endure being tech illiterate in 2025? It's nearly identical to being unable to read in 1925.I recommend anyone who's tech illiterate use Gentoo or FreeBSD on a second machine for a while, it would genuinely teach them a lot about navigating the modern world.
>>107114435I guarantee if you look at the name of who is responsible for this, it's all Indian Hindu invaders. If Microsoft was full of people named Abdullah, Chang, and Timmy, instead of Ranjeet and Krishna, this would never happen.
>>107116022Nobody reads anymore because books suck ass.
The kikes did it, this is intended. They want to wipe a bunch of data and this is one way to do it partially en-masse.
>>107116022>Why would anyone just endure being tech illiterate in 2025?Newer generations are, on average, less tech literate than older generations. There are zoomers who don't even know what a directory is.
>>107114435>computer works fine>I know, lets updootUpdooters are mentally ill. STOP FIXING WHAT ISN'T BROKEN. If shit just works for you, there's no need to update anything.
>>107116068I've witnessed it first hand, I'm a zoomer and seeing some of my peers use computers is not much less painful than watching a boomer.
>>107116068I've been using PCs for over 30 years and I have no clue what a directory is. Is it just a folder?
hey, if my boss's boss's boss's boss is willing to pay me to stick my thumb up my ass and do nothing while on the phone with IT, then I'll be more than happy to take him up on that offer
>>107116093>Is it just a folderSame thing, different name
>>107116093Yes, a folder is just another name for a directory.
>>107114435> However the key is always synced to the Microsoft account (MSA)> Mayank ParmarWant to bet this is part of a next-level Microsoft take on scaremongering normies into adopting MS accounts?
