Most governments still wouldn't survive if the majority of their country's populace decided they had had enough and stormed the capitals en masse. Despite the demoralizations, the wealthy and powerful elite are not untouchable and can still be brought low by an army.
Criticizing the government of Israel is not antisemitism and I'm tired of people pretending that it is.

And on the flipside, people at large are afraid of going against an army because they believe they would lose, that they would get mowed down for nothing (to say nothing of what would happen if they actually won - fear of losing creature comforts and threats of outside force are also in the back of everyones minds). All in all, people have been disenfranchised enough that the wealthy ruling class barely has to put in any effort into keeping the populace down, to the point that the idea of a revolution is straight up seen as the stuff of fantasy and fiction.
