Why do people hate AMD gpu's?
Try to play a game older than 5 years and see how things turn out.
>>107118489Because they are the controlled opposition in yet another false dichotomy.
>>107118503I've been playing Majesty on a R9 380.
Because most people use windows and the AMD drivers on windows are doo doo
No drivers and they barely get even 3 years of support while Nvidia does at least 10 years.
I've had an RX6600 for a few years and it has served me well. Admittedly I don't play a lot of games but it does what I need it to.
I use Blender and AMD GPUs are pretty much a no-go for 3D rendering at this current point in time.
>>107118489If you use your GPU for stuff outside of gaming such as productivity, it's hard to justify it considering how big of an advantage Nvidia has in that area.
>>107118575amdgpu also breaks my system every so often, what makes you think it's any different?

>AMD GPUI wish I could buy that much vram at those prices, alas I need nvdia for prompting
Apparently RTX 4090s still fetch a great price on eBay. I could almost make all my money back from 2.5 years ago when I purchased mine. A lot of spare cash to invest some other place. I'm too weak-willed to completely forgo gaming though, so I will need replacement. I was thinking a 7900 XTX or 9070. Maybe even something weaker. I still wanna play relatively modern stuff in high 1080p pref at 100+ FPS. Not really looking for suggestions, just pondering. I think a new RDNA card will be just fine. And I've been meaning to `support´ team red again for a while.
>>107120301A 4090 is the 2nd fastest graphics card out there right now, so it's no surprise.
>>107118616use case for "support"?
It's people who shill Nvidia. The same group that hates FOSS. The newfags.
>>107120339holy fragmented. sentences. my dude.
>>107120342I don't believe I was gramatically incorrect.
>>107120357still a faggot, thoughbeit
>>107118489The biggest haters of Radeon are those who've used one in the past and got screwed by their broken drivers
>>107120357that's why i called them sentence fragments you dumbass. it just looks stilted; much like your reply.
>>1071203314090 prices are propped up by it's ability to support 48gb vram
>>107120363>>107120375Damn you guys are fussy little bitches. Miss nap time?
>>107120204it just is
There are people who play bf6 on a rx570...meanwhile the ones playing with a gtx 1060 are forced to use fsr because ngreedia won't allow to use dlss.
>>107120331>>107120379What are top 5 GPUs?
>>107118489>gpu'sWhy hello there, my ESL friend.
>>107118489The GPUs are great, it’s the company that supports them that kinda sucks sometimes.
>>107118503I played Crysis warhead (2008) on my 9070xt last week
>>107118489PTSD from ATI drivers in the 00s bsoding every 5 minutes and ruining gaming for me
>>107120466How so? Is that over them trying to stop new game support for their older two gens?Because outside of that they've been pretty good on things. Favoring open source vs proprietary shit.
>>107120421With what tensor cores would the 1060 run DLSS? It’s not the same thing as FSR4 being reserved for RDNA4 where they can backport a version for cards without ML hardware.>>107120421
>>107120491They can make the INT8 version of FSR4 official or they can kiss my ass next time I buy a GPU. RDNA3 not even being competitive with Turing is an embarrassment. I frankly couldn’t care less about the maintenance mode drama.
>>107120491You think they're going to gimp the driver like nvidia? I don't think they've ever done that
>>107120460
>>107120533>Price: N/ABy that logic, the 6090 prototype should be #1 on that list
>>107120533>The lowest end one is about the price I spent for my new high end AMD PCwew
simple as.
>>107118489amd hates amd gpusthey want you buying consoles and apus not that garbage
>>107118489>Why do people hate AMD gpu's?Up until about 2018 all graphics cards I had bought had been AMD/ATI more or less. Might've bought one nvidia card with passive cooling in like 2006 that I didn't use that much. But then AMD usually gave you a lot of bang for your bucks and were way more for your money. But these days you get like only a ten percent price difference for the same performance. And nvidia cards have better support, better second hand value and are easier to sell, and works better on other things than just gaming. So it's really hard justyfying AMD cards anymore. My last one was a rx 580 8 gb which I later gifted to my nephew and he used until this year, he got a 3060 12 gb from me then. But yeah, in general amd cards just aren't worth it anymore.
>>107118503tf2 being playing it since 2011 currently on a 9070xt not sure what you meant by this >>107118575the drivers are fine they have being fine for the last 8 years the problem with amd is FEATURES they lack a lot of things and they have nobody with a creative mind as it seems to bring back ray traced audio
I went to overclock my display and found this absolute gem
>>107118489Im running a 9070xt with a 9800x3d on arch linux and i can game anything in steam I tried and i can gen images locally in comfy ui, including some wan video models (admitedly comfy ui crashes every once in a while, which i supect is due to vram fragmentation). So for me everything just works most of the time
