Is it worth nuking my battery life over such a silly gimmick?
yes, 60hz is unbearable
real apple displays have variable refresh ratepoorfag androids dont

>>107127682We have a thread for stupid questions. You've already established a downside and your attitude about the upside in your original post so why even go through with asking the question?
Just changed mine to this. I had it at minimum of 60 and peak of 120. I don't really know when it is at 120 or 60 based on that. Well as far as 48 goes I've been using it in the time it took to screenshot that image, edit it, and now you're this out. It's mildly jarring but honestly probably won't notice it by tomorrow. It was the same when I changed the colors from vibrant to natural.
>>107128035Trying to eek out a bit more time to scroll through tiktoks?
only if you're a chronic phone user that does everything on their phoneif you just use it for the occasional reading/web browsing then 60hz is more than enough
>>107128044No I just wanted to try it out since op said it was a gimmick. Honestly, as for myself when I got a 144hz monitor there was an initial "wow smooth" and then I pretty much stopped noticing forever. I even hopped between a 60hz laptop and the 144hz monitor often and never had any kind of feeling of "ewww it's so slow I can't use this I'm too use to 144hz" that people claim. Really never noticed. Now hopping between 1440p on the monitor and 1600 x 900 laptop resolution, THAT is what I noticed heavily each time I switched
>>107128145based genetic dead endmaybe your brain is so slow you can barely process what your eyes are seeing or something
Humans can't see more than 24 fps anyway.
>>107127682I make my display update at 24hz and it's very kino and I save a ton of battery.
>>107127682Refresh rate has no impact on battery life. The illumination of the pixels (OLED) or backlight (LCD) is the real contributor and is responsible for 99% of the consumption.
>>107127719I heavily customized my phone to the point where nothing has animations. Why would I care about higher refresh rates? Everything is instant...
>>107132240>Refresh rate has no impact on battery life.Yes, it does.More shit to render = more power used.
mine does 1-120hz and i have no idea what the difference is i still have to charge it every day
>>107132309Apparently, when you waste a great chunk of your life doom scrolling, it makes a huge difference.
>>107132293Even scrolling?
>>107132314just scrolling? how? it's not even playing video
>>107127719you literally just got that this year
>>107132326I don't really have social media.Sometimes I look at paintings on Pinterest, but mostly I use my phone for WhatsApp.>>107132332The only video games I ever enjoyed were online MMORPGs. I can't enjoy something that is made just to waste your time and drain your wallet in the process.
>>107127682uhhh USECASE?
>>107127719richfag androids do
>>107127682i switched to 60hz immediately after purchase and never touched it again. 60hz doesn't bother me at all. are battery savings worth it? how much are we talking?
>>107132349stop, I'm going to renew my sub if you keep posting osrs!
>>107127682>worth nuking my battery lifeyeah gotta check your emails at 120hz anon wtf why even ask
