I truly don't know if gender dismorphia is a thing. But there's definitely a crossover between autism and technology. Tech has a ton of literature and a person with hyper fixation and focus can definitely deep dive pretty easily into these topics. I think they're more readily avaliable than a lot of other things. The fact that transgender people flock to things like rust and speed running is something that baffles me. Maybe its a inflection point type thing? They see other people out there like them doing it and commit to joining them? I want to posit this other theory. This whole thing is a counter culture. To me the fact that most of them are "lesbian" in my mind makes it purely an act of rebellion against what they see is a masculine dominate culture. You look at the 70s hippies and you see love and peace and a pretty femine gay counter culture. Then you get 80s and rock and metal and leather jacket counter culture. I believe the LGBT stuff to be a counter culture not unlike the hippy 70s movement. These people see themselves as part of this modern counter culture and identify with what is essentially the dominate look. Instead of tattoos or piercings its boob implants. I think being in tech is part of that rebellion such that they see it as a masculine dominated area of society. Thats my best guess. Let me know what you think. I don't really understand how we got here either.
