Even Situational Awareness LP (the biggest AI bulls in Silicon Valley) has puts on Nvidia. It's all going to come crashing down, isn't it?
>>
Good. Maybe I can finally upgrade my pc without getting gypped by those ridiculous AI inflated prices.

ram prices have an autistic burst right now and memory prices affect gpus as well

Inertia. The money already in the system is still buying stuff, the investors simply pulled out now.

>softbank
Gaggle of retards
>Michael Burry
He already failed some big shorts, tesla was one iirc
>Peter Thiel
Dunno enough about him to have an opinion
For the record I want this shit to come crashing down, but I don't think any of this is a reliable indicator
>>
>>107234215
>Peter Thiel
Who cares what this retard does?
>Michael Burry
Hasn't been relevant beyond 2008 and his water bet.
>Softbank
THE ultimate counter indicator.
tl;dr I'm going long Nvidia with 20x leverage.

They are going liquid so that when it does crash, they can buy it all up for firesale prices.

No, they didn't

Steve carrell?

It's really simple.
>Banks had this genius idea to bundle mortgages together and sell it as bond
>These mortgage-backed bonds were “super safe” because homeowners would keep paying, and even if they don’t, the bank can just seize the house and sell it
>Big institutions buy them in bulk because "safe returns"
>Banks realize they no longer carry the risk once the mortgages are sold
>Start issuing mortgages to anyone breathing
>2007: The “super safe” bonds collapses because the mortgages inside them stop paying and the houses aren’t worth enough to cover losses
>Institutions holding this bonds suddenly look like they’re about to implode
>Government steps in and bails them out to prevent a full financial system failure
>>

>Government steps in and bails them out to prevent a full financial system failure

We should try not doing this for once. Just to see what happens.

he didn't lose anything. his strike date is in 2026, so his gamble hasn't closed. he has closed down his firm though which means he will no longer be under SEC scrutiny and will just trade his own money. all his nvidia and palantir put options are still live.

softbank has sold its nvdia stake to finance an investment in openai.
https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/softbank-exits-nvidia-with-5-83-billion-sale

but i personally think the entire thing is a bubble. i am wondering what the hardware dumping post crash is going to look like.
>>
>>107240372
The same Softbank that wanted to invest 100 billion in WeWork? Good indicator that nvidia will see another huge pump.

This was my thought too. Don't understand the relation.

You glossed over something important:

The crisis is also called the subprime mortgage crisis.
A lot of people that had quite bad credit ratings were given credit to buy overpriced homes they really couldn't afford, usually with variable rate mortgages.
So while the market was good, their interest was acceptable.
Still, the risk of these mortgages failing were quite high, but thanks to retarded regulations banks could just package these mortgages into bonds with a lot of other subprime mortgages, for some reason that passed as "diversified" even though it's all the same asset class for pretty much the same product, and this shit got top ratings. Otherwise, the banks would have charged way more interest, making these mortgages unattractive for the people that really couldn't afford these properties.
Anyway, at some point the market tanks a bit, some extremely high risk mortgages fail and the banks holding these shitbags lose money, the interest on the other slightly less shit mortgages goes up, people can't pay, banks lose more money, people lose jobs, feedback loop essentially.
The government steps in and bails out some institutions, transferring private into public debt that continue to burder the state's finances to this date.
Years of young workers entering the workforce at that time got shafted, millions of households lost all or most of their savings, people were out of work for years.

If we ignore the tech and hydrocarbon industries, the US hasn't actually properly recovered from this.

Well, specifically the middle class has gone to shit even faster than before. Either you make a lot of cash in the US or you're less than 3 months of unemployment away from abject poverty today.

This is accurate but it's worth mentioning he's also an aspiring National Reactionary (NRX) political kingmaker. JD Vance is one of his creatures. Their thought leaders like Curtis Yarvin and Nathan Cofnas are laughable midwit jews trying to save their own skins.

I maybe retarded but.
Say you have $100 mil invested at $2 a share.
If you are seen as a big investor and you pull out this can cause the stock price to drop to say $1.
Then you can put your $100mil back in bit grtting twice the shares.

Is this a viable tactic?

>>
>>107245704
It doesn't happen in a vacuum, you're selling TO other investors, according to the prices they have set. If you oversell and start punching through buy walls, the amount you make from the sale of each share keeps going down until you're selling for $1. Then, other (smarter) investors might realise your basic bitch plan and front-run you, buying in at $1. By selling and rebuying you could easily end up losing money instead.

selling nvidia now isn't a bad idea
amd's starting to get their shit together
google's selling tpu's to competitors
trainium's coming along
openai, anthropic, xai are all working on their own silicon
nvidia's not going to crash or anything, but they'll dip for a bit and then growth will slow
>>
>>107246087
this. you just sell the shares to your wife and then buy from the bots that can't really tell you are baiting and wash trading
it sounds basic but then you look at crypto and 80% of transactions are wash trading
