why is bluetooth so fucking laggy, aren't electromagnetic waves supposed to be as fast as light

works for me

it's the work of the radio wave gnomes

works just fine on my apple products

It's not bluetooth itself that's laggy but the CPU inside processing bluetooth signals. For example despite being tiny earbuds, the Anker P40i achieves close to 130 milliseconds of SBC codec latency.

Now the reason 90% of earbud manufacturer's aren't prioritizing V8 engine CPUs that achieve this kind of latency is because most people are inherently laggy and can tolerate 200, some even 300 fucking milliseconds of latency. Thus using a $1 bluetooth SoC with a 800MHz ARM CPU instead of a $2 bluetooth SoC with a 1.4 GHz ARM CPU makes profit line go up and most users won't complain, like AT ALL.

>130 milliseconds latency
is that supposed to be good?

Do you have a reaction time of less than 130ms? May we see some proof?

reaction time and noticing that audio/video are too much out of sync are two different things

Humans are literally living in the past thoughbeit. There's a MINIMUM ~50 millisecond delay between light hitting your eyes and sound vibrating in your eardrum and finally this being encoded into brain waves that are finally decoded by your conscience.

I'm not saying humans who can process things in 50ms don't exist, they do and fly fighter aircraft jets, play in orchestras, fight in MMA, and so on and so on. However they're the mutants of the human race and MOST humans in real life can only notice delays above 200 milliseconds.

Bluetooth manufacturers realized this and is the reason why they can cram 800Mhz ARM CPUs in their Bluetooth earbuds and still get 5 star reviews on Amazon.

because things that use bluetooth are often the cheapest low-power shit.

Yea and that's why movies play at 19 fps
