Is there any trickery to turn this shit off? I output to a TV from my gtx 1070 over a fiber hdmi 2.1 cable and it frequently has issues with black screen flashing and brief disconnects whenever netflix or something using hdcp comes on.

Here's a random "splitter" that will strip it for you https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T62MKH1You can get them cheaper straight from china but they're pretty cheap from Amazon too. If you only need to handle earlier versions or lower resolutions you can get cheaper ones too.
