I think half of all opinions on this board about window managers or gnome are based on this. If someone is utilizing a bunch of workspaces you can't really capture their true "desktop" because they're not using that paradigm in the first place. I've seen people say you should avoid window managers because something like a browser that you want taking up the whole screen will only take up a quarter if you have a bunch of things open. Some very intelligent people here.

I just thought of something I wish existed: being able to go to my browser and select a rectangular region and have that region display in a terminal that I could make semi-transparent. What caused me to think that was wanting to put the natural gas futures chart in a terminal that I could keep pinned somewhere and glance at. I found a few stock ticker apps that work in terminals but there are no Slackbuilds for them and I'm too RETARDED to know WATDO or how to know which ones to trust on my system.
