is it normal to feel incredibly stupid and retarded I just started learning programming (with c++ as my first lang) and I'm solving little tasks in codewars so i can stand on my own two feet and i feel like i'm pushing myself to my brink just sitting here trying to think of something for hours and coming up with nothing
sometimes i can create something but it ends up making not much sense and i have to keep looking shit up
is this normal

Would you like your anus punished OP

Yes, that's normal when starting out. You'll understand it all more thoroughly and expand your toolbox as you keep at it.

Also, I recommend you try to build something practical (e.g. automate some repetitive task you keep doing) rather than purely relying on leetcode problems to learn how to code. Practical applications aren't only conceptually easier (which will allow you to feel a sense of progress and accomplishment), they're also more "exhaustive", in that making useful software exercises more of your programming skillset than the clever idea or two it takes to solve a leetcode problem.

You're fine. cppreference.com is your fren, and most IDEs nowadays hotlink back to the proper page when you highlight keywords, etc. then hit the 'documentation' shortcut. Good luck.

We could be C++ study buddies and then I could punish your anus when we're done for the day, if you want.

Yeah pretty much
