I would love to have some of your machines.NEET Setup: Old laptop was literally unusable after 10+ years of use and simply outdated stuff.Every component was given to me for free because people are wasteful and replace everything too often.Needed computer. Friend had like 3 old laptops lying around, I picked the least crappy one which is 10 years old from A Generic Brand, and has nothing /g/ would recognise as valuable. That person knows nothing about computers. My "office": Chair: one of those cheap pleather office chairs. It looks third world, but at least I'm not sitting on the floor. The cushion is just enough to not be painful.Desk: Blanket to cover the gross table. Laptop on a stand. Beneath that on the table: The laptop's input is all unusable, so an external keyboard & mouse via USB.The machine is excruciatingly slow and I hate this entire setup every day. But it's all I can do for computer stuff. My only comfort is "well, at least I'm not one of those smartphone-only losers." Recently starting selling some sentimental stuff just to dig myself out of my current hole, and I am literally for-real considering being homeless for a few months and starving, just to save some money to buy a real freakin laptop. The plan for that is in a few months.

I was venturing into some remote work and had to stream my display while running a couple Electron apps, but that worked out at 1 FPS. I said fuck it and shelled out 130€ (struggled with food next month, for another expense particularly) on a ThinkPad E560 (Radeon R7 M370) which had no problem doing that. I'm having fun with somewhat smoother gaming. I think it's being held back by the hard drive though, I might put an SSD in when I get the opportunity.
