What is the best way to browse a large music collection?I feel like everything I try takes too long or looks too messy
>>107250257foobar2000 is always the answer
>>107250257You posted it. Just strip all the panels you don't need off.
>>107250257
>>107250307foobar2000 is mainly for ricers, musicbee mogs for everyone else
>>107250257Jellyfin with Synfonium. Made me stop using spotify.
>>107250347Wrong. foobar2000 is still the only player with built-in AR checking. I'll never even think about using another player unless they support that.
>>107250257tagging and metadata is messy and bloatedKISS
I used to use MusicBee all the time, but now I can't because it reminds too much of good times
mpd + picard for taggingmympd for webUI didn't have an issue for me yet
>>107250257mpd/mpc + fzf + terminal spawned w/ custom window class managed by i3
Foobar2k. Musicbee if you can't be assed to set everything up.
>>107250257You already made this thread, were previous replies that unsatisfactory? Im looking for something similar but I dont want to waste time checking useless crap in the archive
>>107250257I have 3ish TB of music and have had the most success with foobar on windows and clementine on linux. There's no perfect solution if you have old classical music or things that are out of print
>>107250829The only legacy frank choppa has is woke political activism and homosexuality
>>107250307the default setup looks like hot garbage straight out of 1994.you need to download tons of external plugins and spend hours customizing things.no fucking thank you. autist
>>107253958There's plenty of them you can just download, unpack, and load. No need to do anything yourself. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
>>107250257mpd+rmpc if on linux or mac
i have a bunch of presets for foo_fileops bound to hotkeys that allow me to sort music quickly as long as the metadata is correct. there's always a catch where some fuccboi forgot to put the data in a column for just one file, so that could end up getting put in the wrong folder. so i resort to using different fields sometimes.i simply did a dir /a:d /s /b > C:\ on my music and fed it to chatgpt to tell me if i have any dupes
dir /a:d /s /b > C:\
>>107250257It was clementine, then that got abandoned, then it was strawberry, then the frog decided to abandon it after setting up a paywall for windows and mac users, still free on linux. Now I'm on the hunt for a new player that will work on any platform and support syncing playlists to usb devices by album artist/album/disk/track.extension
>>107250257Lidarr
>>107250557>AR checkingAnd what is that?
>>107252368ish
I want to personalize album covers and even put lyrics, I recall back then (like more than 10 years ago) I used iTunes a lot for those stuff. If I want to do the same.. which one is for me?
>>107253958this attitude is the cause of all bad things
>>107254286Quality music enjoyer.
>>107253958I use foobar without any plugins

>>107252368the fuck is that font
>>107255859AccurateRip. It'll tell you if your file is a perfect rip from a CD and also if it's a real FLAC/lossless file. Niche, but I'm autistic about my audio rips.
>>107250257Microsoft Media Player just works, only problem is it won't grab images for profile pics of niche singers like tiktok thots like my beloved Nessa Barrett.
I think MusicBee with picard is the best tool for that. After you have good metadata any player will do. I use Plex because I have a subscription. It' s fine.

>>107250257I don't. I leave it in the sovlseek download folder and let my music player scan the metadata.

pip install beets/thread

I have some problems with how artwork works in musicbee, so I tried foobar2000. It's literal dogshit. You dont even have wasapi or asio natively, its extensions you have to install manually. And the UI itself is just horrible.
>>107260381>baby duckNope. I use foobar2000 because it's the best player and has features no others have. Again, show me one other player with built-in AR checking.
>>107260464It's a disgusting piece of shit player, it could suck my cock and i still wouldnt use it
>>107250257I just use folders...
>>107260482Troll or retarded, got it. Ignoring.
>>107258364do you know how many retards have pmed me on soulseek claiming i have fake flacs when every single one of my flacs was ripped from deezer by myself
>>107261009AR wouldn't say that a WEB FLAC is fake, it would simply say that it can't verify it as accurately ripped/not found in the database. Now if it was an MP3 file converted to flac, then it would say that isn't a lossless file.
Foobar 2000

>>107250557>foobar2000 is still the only player with built-in AR checkingpretty sure musicbee can use accuraterip too if you really think you need it
>>107261911This. Navidrome just works.
>>107263024That's for ripping, not checking files. Unless you can demonstrate the ability for Musicbee to be able to check flac files after-the-fact.
>>107250257I use jellyfin>>107250443What's synfonium? Why not just jellyin app?
>>107263081>>107261911I wanted to use it, but jellyfin handles movies, anime, TV series AND musicSo I decided to just let jellyfin handle all instead of having a separate soft for music for no reasonUnless you don't have jellyfin
