I'm starting to hate software even though I'm a senior in college for CS. It's literally beneath me. I have no clue what else I could do. What should I pivot into?

Hey listen man. Literally pick whatever sounds fun and do it as hard as you can. You like writing? English lit? Geology? Biology? Chemistry? Horticulture? Fucking go for it. Go for it as hard as you can. You will find easier employment than with your software degree. Even in my small Midwest town local job postings have 700+ applicants because everyone is getting fired. Local orgs which were once somewhat decent jobs are contracting their IT to India. They don't care that the work quality sucks. They don't care that everyone hates working with them, can't understand them, and they are barely able to write in English, and are on a TWELVE HOUR delay. The door is literally shut. Too many people got into this field seeing it as a get quick rich scheme and it has not only destroyed the quality of the software but also the science itself has been corrupted. And you have to compete with jobs with literally someone in India who can live on getting paid 5 bucks an hour. I can't reiterate this enough. It is O V E R. but that's good news for you, you have time to pivot, follow your dreams anon
