Too many have allowed their computers to become SLOW. We here in /FAST/ are not slow retards, we are FAST.itt all things gombuder and FAST. fast boot times, low ping times, high bandwidth, gbps? we want exabites per picosecond. moar v/ram speeds things up? moar it is then.or faster code.or interface fixes to be FAST.
>>107252814>picrelYou scared me, bro. I had to go check and see that all the ActivityWatch developers are suitably German for such an autistic (positive) project.
In today's FAST, I introduce to you one piece of the puzzle of my quest to replicate Tornado Notes on Linux. The first piece is I WANT TO WRITE A NOTE RIGHT NOW. NOT IN A MINUTE. NOW. NOT IN A FEW, NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW RIGHT NOW!!!!If you are NOT on Wayland, you can use qpaste for this - you setup a custom global shortcut for new note. But I am on Wayland.note: remember not to try to assign to ctrl-alt combos, idk why it hates that, you'll sort of get a lockup, I think. I don't have the time (IMFAST) to sort out the exact buganyway, tldr is you install the latest tomboy-ng, which on Ubuntu is easy, you downloadtomboy-ng_0.42-0_i386.deband install itmaybe you also needlibqt5pas1_2.16-1_i386.debI installed it just in case.anyway, the new version is needed because we need -c to create a new note (the suppository doesn't have that jammed in it just now).Settings (in launcher) -> Keyboard -> (scroll down) -> View and Customize Shortcuts -> (scroll down) -> plus buttonI also have it as a startup application, in Tweaks. This is vital for FAST FAST FASTsudo apt install gnome-tweaks it's in your launcher as just "Tweaks"
>>107252919This is what a new note looks like when I hit shift-F8.I also am fond of a lack of distractions, but that is a debate in /FAST/ - sometimes seeing more is better, but sometimes it just slows you down. I see the benefit of both.>>107252884I think I agree with the anon who says this is baste and activity spyware even for our own good is le bad
>>107252969fwiw I install synapse from the suppository, and it is an alright launcher, and it could be a little snappier, but it jest werks (on Wayland), with this setting, found on the ubuntu forums iirc
>>107252981(synapse can't be screenshotted easily, but it's just a basic launcher ie you type a little bit, and then stuff on your gombuder gets listed if the letters match the name a little)
>>107252814https://www.recoll.org/This is looking pretty hot. I'll have to see how it goes. Catfish does work, but this is more like Everything was, I think. Thanks to ai, I have also foundhttps://github.com/google/codesearchI will have to see if this can be made to very swiftly search my tomboy-ng notes folder
>>107252969>I think I agree with the anon who says this is baste and activity spyware even for our own good is le badIf I control the spyware that's spying on me, no one else can see it, it's not really spyware. Is my diary (desu) spyware? Probably not.
