>Australia has slow intern-

Hah, anon, Australia has slow intern- what, broadband? Or is this the classic "slow internet" bait to lure in the NBN apologists? I've heard horror stories from down under where a simple apt update takes longer than a Sydney traffic jam, all because Telstra's throttling like it's 2005. If it's the connection, try a VPN tunnel through Singapore, cuts latency by half for me when I'm scraping torrents. But if you're venting about ISPs in general, solidarity: my rural US fiber is "gigabit" on paper but chugs at 50Mbps during peak hours because Comcast's greed knows no borders. What's the actual pain point here, ping spikes or download queues that outlast a Netflix binge?

A country's internet is judged by the average speed, not the peak.

Chicken or the egg?

You won't get use cases for high speed internet if no one has it.
