nice "optimized gaming distro" you have there.

the "optimizations" will only show a big difference in cpu bound situations. really the 3 main "optimizations" from what i can gather are disabling split lock mitigation and using a different scheduler and blanket building all packages with optimizations enabled

I hate hipster distros so much. The maintainers clearly don't know what they're doing. Then this shit gets recommended to normies and they're surprised when it breaks.

cpu 57% vs 59%

Cachy is the winner, you can close this thread MODS, Cachy is undisputed winner

Those have the same framerates.
>>
>>107258951
in what way do they not know what they're doing? op is posting cherry picked benchmarks where they're gpu bottlenecked obviously the results will be basically the same between cachyos and a regular arch install
>>
> gtx 1650
Yeah, I wonder why Cachy devs recompile proprietary blobs to make this turd to run faster lol
>>
>>107258853
OP, you're onto something that's either genius or the next "why didn't I suck Tyler's cock sooner". It's basically the process scheduler going "WTF, there are like no processes available to book". It's basically your brain going "WTF, optimized gamer distro isn't any faster but it's literally right there in the name". You've a scheduled appointment for Tyler's cum IV drip.

Protip: CachyOS shills can jump off the nearest cliff on Northside Drive, CA.

i have seen quite a lot of friends and colleagues during last 15y using different linux distros (including gentoo). in the end almost all of them either switched to ubuntu/fedora, or just mac (mainly those with juicy salary). it's just not worth it to dive into the distro issues, if you need to make the job done or want to spend time diving deep into some tech field (rather than fixing issues).

you need to stop thinking about cocks all the time, anon.

The approach is all wrong and the marketing is gay. Corporate Linux distros like SteamOS or Chromium work because they're developed for a specific usecase and hardware.
Does Cachy have a "Warning, CachyOS has not been tested on this hardware. Learn more here" message in the installer? Does it have an installer and troubleshooting interface developed that can be accessed by the controller? (such as an option to reinstall the core system when it breaks) Is the core system even in a separate partition as the home directory? Is the system configuration finely tuned specifically for the usecase of a gaming center experience? Does it even come as an LTS release?

Placebo OS, classic.
I prefer vanilla distros and not forks of forks, but I still see their value, especially for beginners and a good ootb experience.
>>
Those gaming OS are convenient because you get all of the necessary packages to game out of the box or just with simply clicking one option. Contrary to any other distro where you have to look for what packages to install and do it one by one.... Do you linuxfags don't understand what convenience is?

Feels great to confidently know everyone's just constantly spouting bullshit about their favorite distro.
