Not gonna lie, that bot absolutely mogs >>>/fit/ in its control of core anti-rotation, but it would be more impressive if it rolled backwards then started sprinting once its legs touched the ground and jumped up to hit that faggot in the balls as hard as it can.
>>
>>107259870
why are they even trying to make them walk on two legs? wheels seem like a much more stable idea
>>
>>107261637
Go over obstacles and climb shit. Total wagie replacement is the end goal
>>
>>107261637
Because they're not supposed to be good, they're supposed to LOOK good so people buy them before finding out they're dogshit. The optimal non-wheeled robot design would have spider legs to largely negate the balance problem.

I won't be impressed until it completes an American Ninja Warrior course

>stylized falling so it looks more anthropomorphic
>the only purpose is to manipulate your feelings
I hate this

you're not using wheels

If they're going to replace wagies, they have to operate in environments that were built for wagies. Shelves, obstacles, doorways, control panels, etc all need to be handled by it, and that means it needs to have a humanoid profile and capabilities.

why not spider legs + 360 degrees rotating torso?
>>
>>107262067
That's retarded.
Why do you need to make robots work in human environments when any kind of business that gets the chance is going to replace their entire workforce with robots anyway?
At that point you can just build your floors so they can accommodate robots with better methods of movement instead of having them teeter around on two legs
You can also give them specialized arms or perhaps just bolt them to the ground and run a conveyer past them

>>107262120
because were at a point they want to cater to even normal consumers in the near future

>any kind of business
Are using specialized robots anyways. It's for the companies and workflows companies don't want to change anything else.
Who is going to earn more? The one offering you a cheap solution or the one offering you a cheap solution but you have to change your workflow too?

Don't they already have stunt robots? I'm sure I've seen videos of a few clankers flying through the air, clipping a ledge and cartwheeling down several stories. Rather hilarious.

because if they use wheels, then that means the enemy (other governments) will get to use wheels too

this is a basic fundamental when it comes to an arms race

and that means societies will be even easier to take over

In this context, it's a disney research lab video, they have done lots of work on animatronics and robots to be featured in their parks (dressed up as various characters). In this case, they taught it to fall into comedic poses that also serve to save them from damage.

when clankers eventually do get their revenge, remember the guy who always thanked you for your (most of the time incorrect) code suggestions

>>107261637
making things anthropomorphic is such a waste of tech
>literally have the power to make anything you can imagine that exceeds biological limitations
>make a less functional humanoid
just have kids instead

Is it a bad sign that my first instinct is to run over to help it and then protect it from the other evil fleshbags?

Maybe, maybe not.
