If you think the numpad feels good, that judt shows you prefer ortho boards. Column stagger is even better btw.

It's useful for people working with numbers and MS Excel in their jobs. No I don't work with numbers and excel so tenkeyless is for me.

Artists also have a numpad for shortcuts.

Are you one of those mouthbreathers who uses the numpad even if you only want to type one single digit? You find the top row to be so difficult to understand that you would rather move your hand all the way to the numpad for one key? The numpad is fucking useless unless you actually have to type long strings of numbers without any letters in between.
>>
>>107260118
Detachable and on the left side of the keyboard is the better model.

Because modern ammunition and use of drones medium range weapons, rockets, mortars, air attacks, etc is starting to make armor plating less and less effective, generally easier to disable or destroy today. They require enormous fuel supply lines in order to function and highly trained crews, have a lot of disadvantages and their utility declines rapidly in urban environments. They are largely sitting ducks.

Militaries are highly resistant to rethinking and reevaluating their efficacy because there's an entire military industrial complex that is dedicated to producing them, training on them, and deploying them. The emergence of hedgehog and cope cage tanks are a strong indication that the concept needs to be reevaluated from first principles.

You can say it's merely an evolution, but you could also make an argument that it's a failure.

Mechanical keyboards.
Short-stroke, low profile keyboards are simply superior in terms of productivity, apple magic keyboard is the best thing ever made for actual typing.
I can appreciate the vintage mech tech, but now whenever mech keyboard is mentioned it means gaming redditors making their whole personality about this shit while not having anything meaningful to type anyways.
I even declined one candidate during online interview because of how fucking and annoyingly loud he was typing in parallel during the talk.

I like to think of the cavalry making a comeback in the modern warfare.
When the situation calls - stealthy, but then extremely maneuverable, trained riders could shoot down the enemy FPV drones on the horseback like Mongol invaders shooting down scrambing army with their arrows, while launching their own drones from the saddlebags behind the enemy lines.
>>
>>107276580
For the price of a single Abrams tank you could build something like 250 Jeeps.

That entire fleet of 250 Jeeps cost about $35 per mile to operate and have a range of about 450 Miles. The single tank would be about $7 per mile and have an operational range of about 150 mi and could be disabled by a single drone or mine.

IEDs aren't knocking out a fleet of 250 Jeeps bro. Each one of the Jeeps could have both a machine gun and an anti tank gun or could mix and match with anti-tank artillery, grenade launchers, rocket launcher, even some anti-air, or some dedicated to air support and communications.

And that's just the equivalent of one possible replacement for one single tank. I don't know about you but I'd rather be supported by a fleet of jeeps with brownings on top than a single tank with a cuck cage. I know which one would make me shit myself more if I saw the enemy driving them into my city.

It's a hard sell when we see a $200 drone taking out a $15 million tank, and were still only in early phase of drone evolution. Down stream we're likely to see drone swarms coordinating and acting autonomously without needing pilot, micro drones with shaped charges, and economies of scale able to produce them by the billions for a few dollars each.
>>
>>107277095
Yes, that's cool and all, but in reality Jeeps aren't used anymore. If you go to a military base (in the U.S. atleast) you're going to find mostly armored humvees and maybe of soft-backed ones, plus a handful of the bigger troop carriers. That's on a regular base though and not something on the frontline. Out in actual combat zones it's going to be almost exclusively MATV's, MRAP's, and maybe some up armored humvees.
