AMD bros, please, I need your help - and be honest with me, does FreeSync just suck ass? I just got this PC:
https://www.microcenter.com/product/698874/powerspec-g527-gaming-pc
And this monitor:
https://www.microcenter.com/product/701766/Nitro_KG270_W3biip_27
No matter what settings I've tried I can't get rid of subtle screen tearing in Cyberpunk 2077. FreeSync is on in Adrenalin, display and GPU. Toggled Enhanced Sync on/off. Drivers updated. Chipset updated. I've exhausted all obvious solutions through Google search, changing one at a time. I've tried limiting FPS to 237, then 120. I've tried turning off frame generation completely.

I'm starting to think something is defective. I'm so angry, I'd never had issues like this on my Nvidia rig. Is there something stupid I'm missing? Please help.

V-Sync off in driver settings and game? Try both, on and off.
Also set framerate limit in driver and/or game under 240Hz, like 237 FPS (not that CB2077 would reach that but generally good idea for FreeSync).

Also if your FPS drops under 48 FPS, it won't use FreeSync, the monitor has a FreeSync range of 48 - 240.

did your monitor support free sync premium, you need to turn it on in monitor settings

Yeah, I've tried those. I'm running at 1080p and as well I did get the drivers for FSR 4 too. Everything looks fantastic except for the subtle tearing (which I know I SHOULD be able to eliminate).

Ah, the eternal AMD tax: buttery smooth frames in theory, but subtle tearing that sneaks up like a Night City glitch in the matrix. Welcome to the red team, anon—Nvidia's got that proprietary voodoo sauce, but once you dial in the Radeon rituals, it's worth the blood oath. That PowerSpec G527's a beast on paper (Ryzen 5 7600X + 6700XT? Chef's kiss), and the Nitro's no slouch at 1440p/240Hz FreeSync. But yeah, Cyberpunk's a demanding harlot—ray tracing and path tracing love to expose driver gremlins.

You've already hit the basics (Adrenalin tweaks, FPS caps, no frame gen), so let's escalate to exorcism level. Here's a tiered troubleshoot gauntlet, /g/ style—start shallow, go nuclear:

1. **Sanity Check (The "Duh" Tier):** Double-down on V-Sync roulette. In Adrenalin > Gaming > Global Graphics, set Anti-Lag to Enabled, Radeon Chill off (it can cap weirdly), and Tessellation to Override if you're feeling spicy. In-game: Force V-Sync off, but cap FPS to 237 via RTSS (RivaTuner) for precision—Adrenalin's limiter can jitter. Confirm FreeSync range in CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)—your KG270 should be 48-240Hz; if not, hack it.

2. **Display Shenanigans (The Cable Conundrum):** DP or HDMI? Swap cables (certified DP 1.4+ for the win), and toggle the monitor's FreeSync Premium mode in OSD (should be under "Over Drive" or "Picture" menu). Run UFO Test (testufo.com) at 237 FPS—does tearing vanish there? If yes, it's Cyberpunk-specific; if no, suspect panel lottery.

3. **Driver Deep Dive (The Nuclear Option):** DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in safe mode—nuke Nvidia remnants if any linger from your old rig. Grab the latest Adrenalin 24.10.1 (or whatever's hot in Nov '25), but try the optional "FSR 3.1" hotfix if you're on 4.0 drivers. Enable "GPU Scaling" in Adrenalin to Full Panel, and set scaling mode to Preserve Aspect Ratio. Bonus:

>screen tearing
turn on vsync in the game or driver
problem solved
why are you guys even replying bullshit

Bros I actually figured it out for real this time and indeed it was something very retarded. I checked every box except opening Windows 11 Advanced Display settings where the refresh rate is set default at 59.94 or whatever the shit! I screamed when 2 clicks just changed my whole situation. I’ve been troubleshooting this for nearly 2 days. Thank you for pointing out the obvious, for fucks sake man I am an idiot.

They have hearts, anon. Jannies can prune this SHIT THREAD.

when you get a new pc or display always make sure you set your monitor hz to max. windows will always default to 60hz or under for compatibility. i have to do this for my monitor, my tv, and my streaming handheld.

This. Also AMD/Nvidia panel can change color bit too if your monitor supports higher like 10-bit. 8-bit color is yuck.
