How will this affect the market? Is there enough work for everyone?

> When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut.
Yes, but being a programmer isn't exactly a childhood dream or something extremely difficult to achieve, or at least not something that requires studying and spending most of your youth trying to do it.

The competition today will be nothing compared to what it will be like in 5-10 years.

i sincerely doubt it. most people dont care about computers thats why everyone uses a smartphone and desktops are losing popularity.
youre just in a little bubble of nerds, a small minority.
>>
>>107268653
Imagine being at computers.
>>
>>107268653
Not to mention the increase in the number of NEETs and how compatible it is to be one while "studying" programming from home...

This is a ticking time bomb.

Anyone who doesn't want to see it is either ignorant or chooses not to see it
>>
>>107268643
yeah it's so oversaturated you can barely get a min wage programming job
>>
lol the only people i’d recommend programming as a career to would be gay indians. imagine the bussy those curry pushers are swimming in. living the dream
>>
>>107268643
what fucking job do i try to get then?
i'm autistic and my body is structurally sensitive and weak.
am I fucked?
>>
>>107269289
None. A guaranteed minimum income will be implemented in 10 years. At least in Europe.
>>
80% just want money and will quit because they hate computers and are retarded
>>
>>107268643
I thought y'all wanted to be influenzas, like on Instagram or YT. Maybe I'm thinking of alphas.
>>
>>107268643
>How will this affect the market?
Barely, since the vast majority of them will never progress past vibecoding some buggy CRUD shit.
>Is there enough work for everyone?
For us who do real work, yes. For them, no. Lol.
>>
>>107268643
What do they want to program? What have they programmed?
>>
PCs and Desktops are for perma-virgin incels with fat bodies and incestuous fantasies about their mother.
>>
>>107272024
Autistic people and retards think we live in a "Matrix" so I believe the program they are trying to create is one where they can kill themselves...
>>
>>107268643
>80% of people my age want to be programmers
No, 80% of people your age want to never get off the internet but still be paid to look like they're working.
80% of people your age do not have an inherent interest in problem solving or the mental skills necessary to do the work.

tens of thousands of 'coders' (just come out of a six week boot camp), competing with AI - good luck getting an entry level job (when 'entry level' job requirements are min 1 year experience)
>>
>>107274289
>competing with AI

what the fuck are you talking about? do you even work in software development?

the managers in a company you have heard of are desperate to find that perfect problem/task that llms can be used to solve, and licenses are given out for free, while most devs busy with their work don't give a shit about it

newbies are still stupid, people who are there for years are still incompetent and lazy and work gets organized in the same old excel spreadsheets
>>
>>107274289
>>107274897
you're competing with indians who work for less than 1/10th the wage of entry level americans, not AI
>>
>>107268643
Zoomers can't even use a file system or search
