And it matters why? the only users of WhatsApp are streetshitters, 3rd world niggers, and yuropoors (redundant)

>And it matters why?
Because unless you hold cunts like Meta responsible for putting an API into a production system that allows for brute forcing you will continue to see worse.

>the only users of WhatsApp are streetshitters, 3rd world niggers, and yuropoors (redundant)
And the top 500 companies in any given country, save north korea.

I agree, the scope of damage is relatively minor. However, there are plenty worse being actively exploited.

If they cannot even fix the easy shit, what hope is to be had for actually making it secure?

>If they cannot even fix the easy shit
but again, what is there to fix?
they created a phone book, right?
and people are shocked that you can read entire phone book and find out who has what phone number?

Actually. No, I'm not shocked. I kinda expected such poor performance from them. Try enumerating addresses on my email server, watch how quickly that gets kicked in the dick.

Should someone build a valid list of inboxes, is there any great harm? probably not. I'm still not just going to let that happen.

And letting them know what user is using which inbox? That's a massive security fail indicating unsuitability to possess this data...

Behold, my program to enumerate all phone numbers.

for (int x=300*1000*1000; x<900*1000*1000; ++x) db->add_number(x);

// adjust for national phone system as needed

Over 'ere "mobiles" have predictable prefixes. Should vastly reduce possibles.

I'm kinda assuming whatscrapp doesn't happen over landlines, can't confess to a great deal of experience with docile media.

Signal for IRL friends and family.
IRC/XMPP for online communities of any kind.

Whatsapp is Facebook, they have your WhatsApp phone number too even if you didn’t agree. Why would you assume you have rights over your Facebook overlord in America.
>>
well 2.2 billion of that is india and 1 billion is africa so who is the rest? yuropoors?
>>
>>107269684
This is just a list of phone numbers, how is it relevant? Most people's phone numbers are public in most countries even in EU which is supposedly very privacy-friendly.

>>107271321
Probably. WhatsApp is effectively a communication standard in EU. It's closely followed by Facebook Messenger.
Signal is not very popular. Telegram is somewhat popular, but mainly used for group chats like Discord, Slack or FB Messenger would be. And Viber is a standard in slavlands especially among boomers.
Nobody uses SMS, MMS, iMessage or RCS.

Messages are encrypted anyway.
So who cares?
